humiliated - not a happy vacation
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: So I'm back from vacation in CA. DH's friend from college got married and all his old friends, most I knew, were there ready to party with us. DH and I were so excited...Our parents watched the kids and we booked a hotel for the night. I wore this really cute chiffon/silk dress, thinking I would be fine with no bra (since it was spaghetti strapped). Well I was wrong. Five minutes into the wedding, LEAK ....yep, I had a let-down and soaked the front of my dress. Luckily I had brought a little sweater for the evening, but it was literally 100+ degrees that day! So I ended up wearing this not so cute shrug sweater thing the WHOLE day to cover the stains. I was miserable! It felt like having your period but not having a tampon! Sweat and BM stains!! I was such a trooper though....Instead of running back to the hotel (which I didn't have a change of clothes anyway), I continued to have let-downs through out the evening and stuffed kleenex in the top of my dress. But the dress is pretty low-cut, so the whole time I'm fearful that the kleenex would pop out...It was painful you guys. The hottest day of the year in CA and I'm wearing a long-sleeved sweater over my dress.
Anyways, thought I would share. The vacation was not one of our best. Wesley was cutting about five teeth and he was up about 6 times a night. MIL has this huge beautiful home, but no curtains on the windows, so none of us slept well. 100 degrees and no A/C. Ick. Let's just say this is the first time I'm glad to be home!
moped replied: UGh I am sorry Rae..............we are glad you are back!!
luvbug00 replied: sorry your trip stuck.
Mommy2Isabella replied: So sorry to hear about your trip! NO A/C ?? what is that all about.. is that a Cali thing?
I would DIE!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Yes, it's totally a Cali thing. The weathter is typically a nice 70 degrees year round, so no need for an A/C. Doesn't make sense to me. We keep the A/C on almost all summer here in CO.
Calimama replied: We don't have A/C.. and as we speak Bella is in leggings and hoodie. I've lived here for 2 years and haven't needed an a/c once. At night it gets so chilly that I close the windows and we sleep with sheets and comforters. I love California weather.
I'm sorry your vacation stunk. Sounds like you did a good job making the best of it.
ETA: We're near the water of Southern California so it's cooler than inland I'm sure.
Mommy2Isabella replied: My word ... I would DIE ... we keep the house at a constant 74, I can't imagine not having AC here in SC ... its like 100+ outside today and in August ... OH MY GOODNESS ... its around 105+ from August 1st Until September 1st ... then its in the 90's ...
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: It does get cold at night, that's why I had brought the sweater, but we got hit by a crazy heat wave. My folks and IL's all live in Santa Barbara, close to the beach, but it was still a crazy 100 degrees Labor Day weekend. Luckily it passed after about four days.
gr33n3y3z replied: Welcome back Rae
