hmmmmm...could this be something

mummy2girls wrote: to pursue? I went online to dreammates. An online dating thing. I decided for the fun of it to try it out to see what happens. I wrote in my profile that I do have a daughter and such.... And i got a few reponses. But nothing to interesting to me... Then i got this responce from a guy... He said he was a single dad. And that his daughter lives with him full time(3 year old). I responded back and we have been corresponding by emails for a while now. He lives in the same city as me.. He told me the reason the child does not live with the mom is because she cheated on him and left him. And he took full custody of the girl as the mom did not want custody. He seems like a nice guy so far... Im still going to respond and talk through emails but thats it for now. I am very cautious when it comes to this kind of stuff. He is 28 as am i and his name is marc... smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Well I met my husband online and we were friends for 4 years before meeting in person to pursue anything. Like you I was very cautious. It worked out for me, but just be really carefull.

CantWait replied: Good Luck, hope something good comes of this. wub.gif

kimberley replied: thumb.gif a lot of people i know got together online. a friend of mine is currently married and living in Ireland with her cyber honey! ohmy.gif

taking it slow is the smartest thing you can do. good luck! i hope you make a love connection! wub.gif

A&A'smommy replied: good luck and be careful (i know you said you are being careful biggrin.gif ) i hope that something good comes of this you deserve it!!

Kaitlin'smom replied: I hope so! Glad you are being careful and take it slow.

I know some people who met online and it worked and some that did not, so you never know! Best of luck to you!

ediep replied: Good Luck!!

aspenblue1 replied: Good luck and continue to be carful.

3_call_me_mama replied: I met my husband online through match.com, and we've been hapily married for 2 years and are expecting our second child in september... never know.... it could be your match>>

coasterqueen replied: Funny you post this because our friends and us were talking about this very same subject. They were "downing" their cousin for doing this and I was saying it's okay as long as you are careful. So be careful! Good luck too!

One thing that makes me have a bad taste in my mouth about things like that is I have two very close friends who we thought were madly in love. They looked inseperable! They had a beautiful boy, too and were talking about having another. Well out of the blue she came home one day and told her dh that she was leaving him and moving cross country with their son to be with this guy she met online sad.gif He was so shock and so torn and confused! I don't know if his wife and that man are still together. Her dh moved out of state and we haven't kept contact with him.

Now I know this is not your situation, but I think this is why some people look down on online dating, etc.

Again, just be careful. There are a lot of crazies out there, too. grouphug.gif

DansMom replied: I know lots of couples who have met this way (either on-line or through a newspaper personal). It can be a good way to meet people with similar goals and ideals, and it sounds like you know how to be careful and take it slow. Just like at a bar, there are also people there who are either not serious or actually dangerous, so it's good to be cautious.

Some people meet on line and become good friends even when there isn't a love connection. Be open to any possibility and it will be less stressful when/if you decide to meet. The fewer expectations the better---that way you can just relax and have a good time getting to know each other.

Sounds fun!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I think this could be a good thing. That way you can keep your distance. True, there are lots of weirdos out there, but whose to say you don't meet them in person as well. This is safer in a sense that you haven't seen them...they don't know what you look like, where you live or that much about you. Just what you want to tell them. Get a feel for what he is like and maybe one day you can meet. I know you will be careful. You have too much at stake and are fully devoted to raising and caring for Jenna. He sounds nice so far. Keep us updated.

jen replied: My bestfriend has been dating this guy she met off of match.com and he is great. He has three kids and has custody of all there and is a very nice, dedicated dad and seems to be everything she is looking for so far!!! Good luck!!!
