girl's costume
kimberley wrote: is it just me or did others notice that the costumes are getting... umm... a lil TMI for little girls!!
i was thoroughly disgusted with some of the costumes i came across for Jade's age. she wants to be a witch and OMG some of those costumes (size 4!) were stuff i wouldn't even wear alone in a room with my dh!! do people actually buy this stuff?! ick!
sparkys2boys replied: Crazy huh ! And what's scary, people will let there little kids wear them.
MommyToAshley replied: I absolutely agree... I hate it. I had to buy Ashley's costume two sizes bigger so that it would be long enough on her. Other than that, her costume is fine. But, there are some pretty skimpy ones out there.
And, I hate that Ashley is in a size 7/8 now for regular clothes. She has to shop in the section for girls size 7-14 and the clothes are all made for older girls. I have a very hard time finding clothes that are appropriate.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I made Maddie's costume this year. It's down to her ankles. She's out of the Disney Princess phase and it's hard to find something modest enough for her age.
PrairieMom replied: ITA. I couldn't believe it! I am sorry, my 2 year old is NOT dressing up like that!!! I believe I will be making her costumes in the future. I lucked out finding the dress I did, and that is a size 4-6, way to big for her, I had to hem it with safety pins, because it was the only thing I could find that would cover her little body.
mummy2girls replied: yes I know its nuts!
luvmykids replied: Yep, it's disgusting
stella6979 replied: Ummmm, no...it's not just you. I didn't even bother looking at costumes this year as I was scared of what I'd find. Avery decided a long time ago she wanted to be a cowgirl and I found a cute little set that will cover her completely. No way am I sending her out looking like some hooched out cow@&*#!!!
Calimama replied: Yeah it's getting crazy. We had to buy Miabella's Jasmine costume in a 2T so it wouldn't be a belly shirt. DH wasn't having it.
lisar replied: OMG you are so right. We went last night and got the girls costumes and I couldnt believe what my choices were. She wanted to be a cheerleader but those were inappropriate for her age. (not a normal cheerleader outfit)
mckayleesmom replied: I noticed that too....Since when do girls in the military wear miniskirts?
lovemy2 replied: There was a whole segment on the Today Show about this today
HuskerMom replied: I hadn't noticed this year but I'm sure I will when Summer is a little older. She's going to be a pony.
