toddzgurl wrote: bawling.gif wacko.gif [FONT=Arial][B][SIZE=7][COLOR=blue] I am really scared that I am gonna have my bay really early! I am not due until January 1st and yet my baby has dropped and I sometimes get contractions. Am I going to have my baby early?? What is it like to go into labor?? I am really terrified that my son will be un healthy!

MomToMany replied: It's probably Braxton Hicks contractions, which are practice contractions. Your uterus is flexing its muscles.

First babies usually drop early. It doesn't mean you are going into labor.

If you are having frequent, long contractions, see a Dr. right away if they don't stop within an hour just to be on the safe side.

DansMom replied: Daniel dropped when I was seven months pregnant too, and he was born just one day before his due date. Try not to worry, but do call the doc if you do feel panicky about what you're feeling. A tightening feeling is usually Braxton Hicks, which can happen at your stage of pregnancy and even be mildly uncomfortable. If they get more intense, longer lasting and more frequent, call the doctor---it's ok to be wrong and it's always worth getting reassurance peace of mind.

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm right about where you are. I've been having braxton hicks contrax for months. If your contrax are regularly spaced, call your doctor. BH can be brought on by dehydration. If you are having them, drink a lot of water and lie down on your left side. That should releive the bh contrax if that's what they are. If they are real contrax, that will will not relieve them. Also, if they are radiating from your back to your front then they may be real labor.

Jamison'smama replied: I am about where you are as well--I have braxton hicks occasionally and I have dropped in the last couple of weeks---not significantly but I was carrying pretty high and now I am about in the middle--definately lower though. Try not to worry and call your doctor if you are worried--that's what they are there for.

MommyToAshley replied: grouphug.gif I agree, it sounds like BH to me. I remember that all too well, they sure can be scarey. I would put a call into your doc just to be sure and give you some peace of mind.

Update us when you can.

A&A'smommy replied: I dropped early too but I didn't have bh but that is probably what it is some people can have them really early and some people don't feel them at all.

kimberley replied: welcome and congrats on your pg thumb.gif my baby girl was the same way. she dropped really early and for the last 2 mos, i seriously thought she was gonna drop right out ohmy.gif laugh.gif . she went 11 days past her edd until i was induced. and i had braxton hicks from about that time also (false contractions). as long as you don't have any bright red bleeding or consistant contractions, i think you will be okay. if you are really worried, go see your OB... that is what they are there for. good luck!

mama3x replied: DS dropped at 7 months too - you should be fine. BUT if you are really that riled up about it, please talk to your OB. They say stress isn't a factor in pre-term labor but it does affect you negatively in other ways.

Also remember that your due date could be 2 weeks off either way so you could be due mid-December.

Take care!

toddzgurl replied: Thanks for all of the support I did call my doc and she said that this was normal and that it doesn't nessicarily mean that I am having my baby early he is just getting more comfortable. Well I only have 66 days left!!! Soooooo excited!!!!!! banana.gif

Emeraldsmom replied: They are probably BH. But if you are worried, call your doctor. You should call your doctor any time you are worried.

Littlejojames replied: Glad that your doctor said that everything seems ok.....

I'm having my 1st so i dont really have any advice to offer about that but im glad everything is ok... smile.gif

Nicole replied: Hon i`m sure every thing is ok wub.gif
I`ve had a early baby so i know how scared you feel, my little boy was born at 33 weeks and he was soooooooooo healthy wub.gif
But with you i`ll bet it`s just BH smile.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I agree that it is probably braxton hicks contractions. I had those with my last pregnancy and I thought for sure I was going to go into labour. I would talk to your doctor about this at your next visit and if the contractions get to intense you can always go into the hospital and have a stress test done! grouphug.gif
