Would you let your child - go down the slide alone at this age? PIC

moped wrote: I wouldn't but DH thought it would be fine! LOL, I am just paranoid.

moped replied: Here is the slide pic...............

six_kids_at_28 replied: Of course!! I think that you should be at the bottom to catch them until they are 15-16 months old...then they can go alone

six_kids_at_28 replied: Forgot to add....cute pics wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

moped replied: You are a very experienced mom - not me - I am NEW!!

LOL

Ok, so I am just a goon then!

six_kids_at_28 replied: You are fine thumb.gif Keep up the great work smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Hes fine.....you have to let him get big Jen..I know you don't want to...but it has to happen hug.gif

moped replied: Ahhhhhhh I just can't!!!!!

luvbug00 replied: hug.gif Don't worry your not alone. I'm perinoid too. Mya was in bubble wrap until she was 2!! ( it got expencive) wink.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I know how you feel Jen, but if he is sitting up the whole way down and understands how to do it, then I say it's okay. Wil on the other hand doesn't quite get it yet, so he scoots too fast and falls backward! So I do hold him on the way down. Jack looks like he did okay, but I understand your worry! I think our DHs will always be less worried...they find it toughens up the boy I guess!

ilovemybaby replied: He looks fine! I guess it depends on the child really... there is no way I'd let Abby go down a slide by herself and she is 17 months old. She isn't developmentally ready.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: OMG!! That first picture of hiim is just TOO CUTE!!! I want to smooch him all up. wub.gif wub.gif

Yes, I think he is fine to go down the slide. wink.gif Ethan loves the slide and does it all by himself (19 mos)

gr33n3y3z replied: lol your not a goon you just care about him wink.gif
He looks just fine and seems to be having a great time

ediep replied: I think he'll be fine! Jason has been going down the slide alone for ages. Actually, it was DH who let him do it alone first too

PrairieMom replied: deffinately. mine goes down the big ones now, and can climb almost anything on the playground. ( with me underneith spotting him) I've never needed to catch him. huh.gif tongue.gif

AussieMummy replied: They are very cute pics, I think he is fine at that age, Dakota 3 goes down alone and she has no problems! cool.gif

coasterqueen replied: Oh he's definitely fine at that age wink.gif I let Kylie go down the slide alone at that age if not before, most definitely. tongue.gif

Rae - if you are worried about him falling back maybe try having him lay on his back to go down the slide. Kylie used to do that.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Well personally I did, but not on purpose!!!

Brooke went down a slide alone for the 1st time when she was about 10 mo. old. My 9yo nephew was supposed to slide with her and I was at the bottom to catch her but my nephew "forgot" to go and she went alone. She loved it!

3_call_me_mama replied: What a doll! He looks so grown uP!!!
Now to answer your question, yes, we did. Cameron went down those 10 foot tall playgroung slides alone at 12 month. My paretns have one in their yard adn he jsut ran to it adn climbed up one day and went down, no looking back. HE scared teh CRAP out of me but he loved it, still does. Now Kathleen, that's a different story. SHe has no interest in slides taller than her rolleyes.gif And DH insists tha tshe is FRAGILE rolleyes.gif

ions_momma replied: I think he is old enough to do it as long as he knows how and someone is there at the bottom to ctach him if he needs it.

And by the way, he is just too cute!! wub.gif

Jamielou replied: yes i think he is big enough...laney goes down slides that big and bigger but glen is at the top and i am at the bottom waiting to catch her tongue.gif

he is so cute wub.gif
