Who's getting or got the BIG SNOW?

jcc64 wrote: Grrrrrrrr! We're looking at a foot, and though I ordinarily love snow (we're skiers and boarders here) I'm totally bummed that my Spanish final got postponed until next week! I was supposed to be done at the end of this week and was looking forward to finally decorating for Christmas. Oh well- guess I'll just have to hit the slopes.

lovemy2 replied: wavey.gif Its started here a little while ago - we should get 3-6 today and then a major hit on Sunday...

Mommy2Isabella replied: Umm its like 80 here, it doesn't even feel close to christmas, I am way jealous of you guys! I LOVE SNOW!!!

lisar replied: The high today here is 84. I love Florida.

coasterqueen replied: Not us. We got ICE instead. wacko.gif dry.gif

Anthony275 replied: i am..i woke up about 30 minutes ago and there's almost an inch on the ground and it was supposed to start at 12
5-8 inches...probably more and im hoping it stays for a white christmas

Kirstenmumof3 replied: wink.gif We got the big dump about 2 weeks ago! And there is still more to come!

MyBabeMaddie replied: Unfortunately its about 5* too warm here for snow, we are blessed with a massive rain storm mad.gif

luvmykids replied: We're supposed to get it tomorrow. Just in time for weekend plans, as usual wacko.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: sad.gif we have rain to warm to snow. I think they are calling for some this weekend

boyohboyohboy replied: we got lots of ice today, no school!
but looking at a few inches this weekend

Kentuckychick replied: Nope... I live in Kentucky, right in Lexington which apparently is the exact center of the US right between north and south so it always gets cold as heck but it never snows more than a speck on the sidewalk (except maybe once every 25 years -- considering I'm 25 and that's how many times I've seen a "big" snow.) Other parts of Kentucky get tons of snow... but not us. *sigh* dry.gif

Anthony275 replied: its coming down hard again smile.gif
before i was looking out the window, it was lightly snowing, i dropped something on the floor so i picked it up and when i looked back out the window it was coming down so hard

Hillbilly Housewife replied: awww muffin.

rolling_smile.gif

MotherForever2043 replied: OH, YEAH!!!! It started already. It's going be up to 10 inches.
The kids were let out early ( 3 hours early). The snow will be falling
3 inches an hour. I had to stop by the grocery to but some milk and
bread and it was wacko.gif blink.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif blink.gif I really didn't want to, but I had to
go buy them before it got even worse.

jcc64 replied: We're already up to 6", supposed to end up with 10-12". Expecting another foot on Sunday. White Christmas, here we come...

amynicole21 replied: I was literally sweating at lunch - it's got to be 83 degrees out there.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Ugh, you florida peeps...Send over some warmth!! We had a couple inches the other night, now it's mostly ice. Forecast says another few inches tomorrow and over the weekend. I wouldn't mind, except for we have two parties to attend. One I have to wear heals and a halter top dress, oh joy. dry.gif

grapfruit replied:
I don't think it's going to be much though *sigh* I really would like a white Christmas....

Although I guess it could wait UNTIL Christmas to snow! tongue.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
That's us. dry.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: We are working on getting 10 inches now, and they are predicting another 1 - 2 feet on Sunday. I like snow, but not THAT much. rolleyes.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
I actually didn't mind the warm weather yesterday. Ashley was able to get outside with a light jacket on and ride her bike and just play outside. It kind of breaks up the winter and helps with the cabin fever. However, I could do without the rain today... it's so yucky and gloomy out. I'd rather have snow than rain, but not sure I would want 10-12 inches though. laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: not us its cooling off for the 5th time rolleyes.gif

CantWait replied: Well New Brunswick (where I am) is suppose to get the BIG snow that is headed from the NorthEast U.S.

And they say Canada is BAD, HAHAHA emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

stella6979 replied: I love the snow and now that I'm done Christmas shopping I'd love to get a few inches. It's so pretty and fun to play in, but I hate driving in it. dry.gif
All we've been getting here is ice and rain. sad.gif

Danalana replied: Not only are we not getting the BIG snow, but we aren't even getting the LITTLE snow. The few times I have even seen snow here, it just accumulated on our yards for a couple of days and then melted into sludge. OH, but we DO get ice storms sometimes dry.gif I lived in Missouri for 3 years, and I actually saw real snow... sleep.gif
I sooooo want a white Christmas...just once more before I die.

jcc64 replied:

Move to NY- you'll change your mind! rolling_smile.gif
Seriously, a few Christmas' back, we had a HUGE storm, but b/c we're so blasé about driving in the snow and b/c we have 4WD, we thought nothing of driving 100 miles to "grandmother's house we go.." About halfway there, we hit a particularly slick patch, did a complete 360 in the middle of the NYS Thruway and wound up facing backwards directly at on-coming traffic. My kids were all peacefully sleeping in their carseats and I distinctly remember thinking, "We're all gonna die right now, and they're never gonna even know what hit them." Thankfully, dh got the car turned around and moving before we got smashed, but ever since then, I'm no fan of a snowstorm on Christmas. Before or after, fine, but not that day!

AlexsPajamaMama replied: It is snowing here in Maine right now...supposed to get a big storm Sunday
Like the song says "we have no place to go so let it snow let it snow let it snow"!! I do not drive when the roads are gross!!

holley79 replied: Nope not here in FL. I'm sweating my behind off.

Anthony275 replied:
i remember this! i hope it's the same year im thinking of, was that 2002?

i got 5 1/2 inches today

MomToJade&Jordan replied: It was nice in Tallahassee today. We won't be getting the big snow, but our high on Sunday might reach 56 with a low of 28. Spring to winter in a matter of days. happy.gif

jcc64 replied:

It must have been, because I remember my dd was still in her rear-facing infant seat.

Anthony275 replied: that was horrible- it normally takes us 20 minutes coming home from my aunts house but that night it took over an hour

A&A'smommy replied:
Jeremiah and I are going to missouri after christmas to visit his family and I'm HOPING its going snow!!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: We're getting some snow, but I'd hardly qualify it as big.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: we have a couple feet of snow here already. I don't want anymore. We've at least doubled what we got last year, so far. dry.gif

hoosier momma replied: We're supposed to get 6-10 starting late Saturday morning. I'm not looking forward to it.

~Alyssa~ replied: We are suppose to get 4-8" stating tomrrrow at noon

CantWait replied: It's snowed and it's still snowing unsure.gif unsure.gif

luvmykids replied: It started, we're at a little over two inches and still coming down thick.

Kentuckychick replied: We are "projected" to get 1-2 inches tomorrow and then right back to rain on Sunday which means we will probably get flurries and slush dry.gif

I'd really give anything now that school's out and I don't have to worry about it to get a good 6 inches!

luvmykids replied: Wow, I didn't take ours seriously this morning, and Macie and I went to town. I was afraid we weren't going to make it home! laugh.gif I don't know how much we've got, but it's a decent amount meaning about 5 or 6 inches, and still coming down wacko.gif

Guess I'll be missing my annual girls Christmas party tonight bawling.gif

msoulz replied: Supposedly we are in for 4 - 12 inches over the weekend - but I'm not holding my breath. And that's not nearly as much as some of you have seen!! blink.gif But it is enough to go out and play and on the weekend it's better because we don't have to drive in it!! happy.gif

stella6979 replied:
Don't you love how they say 4-12 inches? I mean, that's a pretty big spread, but I am looking forward to some snow. I bought Avery her winter boots yesterday and we're sooooo ready to go sledding. biggrin.gif

MommyToAshley replied: It's snowing pretty hard right now. It just started not too long ago and I am guessig we have about an inch. I think we are only supposed to get about 4 inches though.

Kaitlin'smom replied: bawling.gif kaitlins school program got canciled, it stared before they expected. I understand but sad. We could get up to 6 inches or more all depends on the temp

Anthony275 replied: snowing at midnight, freezing rain tonight sad.gif

bawoodsmall replied: Been snowing all day here but still not supposed to get much. I think between 2-5. Just enough to be annoying imo.

msoulz replied:
LOL, and I see one station saying 10 - 12 inches. It would be just fine with me - we can go play tomorrow and it should be cleared up in time for school and work on Monday!

Kentuckychick replied:
ohmy.gif

By Monday!?!
If it actually snowed 10-12 inches here the kids might as well just go ahead and plan for the week off!! thumb.gif

Of course... that will never happen. So everytime it snows half an inch they call off just for "pity's sake"

msoulz replied:
Oh yes, even if we get 12 inches of snow it will likely be cleared by Monday morning. We have lots of plows and salt trucks!

I have a friend who was temporarily in Alabama and it snowed 2 inches - which is pretty much nothing to a Michigander so she got in her car and drove to work and they thought she was just an idiot for driving in that! happy.gif It's all what you're used to (and how much equipment the county has to clear the stuff!). They had nothing in Alabama to clean the roads. Why the heck would they, when it is so rare!
