Who else takes their kids - xmas shopping???

PhiMuMommy replied: my son has been with me for a few of his. but usually i bury them under other items and have him pick out candy while the cashier rings them up... for some of his bigger gifts that i would like to keep secret i go when he's at his grandparents.. also one of the tumbling/ gymnastics places is doing a "mom shopping day" where you pay a fee (20 bucks for 4 hours) and the kids play on all the tumbling tracks, slides, the foam pit, and trampolines while you shop. that way you can do some baby free shopping.. my sister and i are taking advantage of that one!

PrairieMom replied: I bought The Boys when he was with me last week. i distracted him aith a toy on the shelf, then reached behing his head and but the toy under the cart! I'm so sneeky. This is the last year I will be able to pull that off tho!

USMCwife replied: Eden is 5, I cant get anything past her. Last weekend, I had DH go to one side of the store while I picked out some Christmas presents and took them to the car.

A&A'smommy replied: I have bought most of mine online so I haven't had that problem this year anyways... And next week when I'm with dh on his business trip I am going to try to pick a few things there

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I did up until last year. That's when she got really observant. On occasion I will buy a gift for her while she is with me, but I try to hide it and like Brianne said, I will sneak off and purchase it.

Ethan goes everywhere with me so he sees everything. There is no way he remembers. This year I will do MOST if not ALL of my shopping on line, though. I'm not buying much and the things I want are pretty specific so I don't need to go out looking.

booey2 replied: Nope, we can't take the two of them near a store without a major tantrum, now if they are apart I can take them 1 at a time. But for Christmas shopping either DH or myself go out and do it alone.

mummy2girls replied: ive taken jenna because i dont really have an option:) but she has forgotten already what they are! LOL... they come in handy because all you do is ask if you like this or want this or hate this and they tell you...LOL

coasterqueen replied: Me here. Have no choice. With DH not getting home til the 21st I can't risk doing all my shopping last minute. I'll save the last few days to wrap everything while he watches the girls. I've done some online shopping but most of what my family wants I really can't get online so.....I tried going shopping last weekend with them which was a complete and utter nightmare. So we'll see what happens the next time.

Insanemomof3 replied: I won't be taking our kids...But when I was growing up, we always went shopping with my parents. My parents would make us go run around the store, and then put our coats and theirs over whatever was in the cart. hehe It was fun.

Boys r us replied: This would not work with EITHER of my kids!! I think I'm slick..but I don't pull anything over on them!

So...I always look forward to christmas time b/c it means I get shopping time with no kids in tow every weekend!!! Poor Daddy!!!!!!

I do need to let her pick out somethign for daddy but I will probably not buy it right then so she wont go home and tell him
