Where were you when.....

DillsMommy wrote: you went into labor. Anyone want to share. I always like hearing labor stories. I don't have one of my own (yet) I was induced with Dylan. Anything that worked... spicy food, walking, etc. and where were you when it happened. I'm really nervous I'll be at the mall or something and my water will break..... unsure.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I was induced with Brooke. With Madison I woke up and just had this feeling that my water broke (a little dampness, but no big gush or anything). We went to the Drs. office and the nurses told me "there's no way - you would KNOW if your water broke". Well, it had, and off to the hospital we went. I felt the first labor pains about an hour later, walking the halls of L&D.

PrairieMom replied: both times I was at home. I started contracting early in the morning with Ben, sent DH to work, only to call him at noon and told him to GET HOME ! WE ARE GOING IN!!!! He was born 5 hours later.

With Al I contracted all night, got up, showered, and went in at 7 am. she was born 2 1/2 hours later.

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: Sorry -- no fun labor stories from me. <sigh>

I was induced with Sammy and ended up with a c-section 18 hrs later. Had a scheduled C-section with Abby. She was almost scheduled to be a 6-6-06 baby,,,,,,,until I realized what her birthdate would be. Rescheduled her C-section IMMEDIATELY. smile.gif

MoonMama replied: I was at home nothing neat or interesting. But my doctor did say, if I was out shopping, at the mall etc. and was standing that more then likely there wouldn't be a gush of water so I wouldn't worry about that.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: With Andrew I was at my friend Jennifer's house. (4littleladies) It was 11:00 at night ~ we had gone to the mall to walk around and then out to eat at Old Country Buffet, and we were all just about to watch a movie I think. happy.gif With Allie I was induced so nothing really fun about that. rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

lovemy2 replied: With Olivia we were at our favorite diner having dinner - it came on kinda fast and strong and the waitress asked me if I was ok and I said well I think I am in labor - she kind of freaked and said oh ok I will get your check right away then she said you know what never mind just go you are here all the time you can catch up with us later - I said NO - I want my ice cream sundae before I leave tongue.gif I had a c-section 2 1/2 days later - yep that's right I said 2 1/2 DAYS ohmy.gif

With Dylan I had a scheduled C-section but went into labor three days before pretty calm labored all nite went in about 6 am and had him at 8 am by c-section wink.gif

DillsMommy replied: How exciting everyone. I'm really hoping for something big and dramatic this time. Like being at work ( atleast I'll have lots of people there with me) water breaking/getting contractions, getting to leave work early, calling DH, rushing to the hospital...the works. Lol. emlaugh.gif I guess I'll have to wait and see.

luvbug00 replied: we DTD the night before...self induced and water broke in the morning happy.gif mya was born 24 hours later

ZandersMama replied: With Zander, I didnt even know i was in labor, mom thought i didnt look good, and low and behold I was 8 cm.

With Zav I was in the middle of the mall shopping for Zans birthday party the next day. Big commotion, I started contracting and bleeding heavy in the middle of the dollar store. sleep.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Home, home, hospital.

Zach was aronud 3am, just after I went to the bathroom to pee. As I'm going back to bed, I "peed" all over myself, so I knew my water had broken.

Emilie, I was standing at the kitchen counter, we were going to breakfast or lunch or whatever at a friend's house, and it just gushed out.

Naomie, I had my water broken in the hospital...funny story about this though - when the doc broke my water, he felt the baby shift up a little, and he was worried that the cord might "come out" since the baby's head was a little bit away from the opening, thus the "seal" was gone... and he had his hand "up there" for a god 45 minutes while we were waiting for the portable ultrasound machine to make sure that the cord wasn't near the opening... anyways the cord was around Naomie's chin or something like that and finally he felt it move out of the way and the head came back down, so he was able to remove his hand. We both felt like Cow and Vet. rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied: At home both times. The first time I woke up around midnight thinking I'd peed my pants but my water had broken laugh.gif

The second time I had been to the doctor earlier and he stripped my membranes. I was eating doughnuts and refused to leave for the hospital until the whole box was gone because when I had the twins I was starving and couldn't eat. I was determined not to repeat that emlaugh.gif

Bamamom replied: Gosh you guys have great stories.

With Tripp I felt bad all day and puke.gif twice that night. My stomach hurt all night but when i called OB floor at hospital (at about 2AM) they said a bad virus was going around and unless I was contracting not to come in. Well at about 5:30 AM I started thinking "Hey this may be contractions" but I had a dr appt at 8:30 anyway so I showered and got ready and went to the appt. As we sat in the waiting room I became pretty convinced that I was in labor. You should have seen their faces when they finally called me back and I told them I thought I was in labor! It was great. Tripp was born that afternoon.

With Katie Grace I woke up with bloody show (sorry if TMI) but I was scheduled to go in at 8:30 for a Nonstress Test so we just showered and went in for that. I told them I thought I was in labor but not really having much pain. Since I was already 3 cm and 41 weeks they started the Pit and she was born 4 hours later.

boyohboyohboy replied: I dont have a big story either, almost did with jake, we were in the hospital and had been induced with jake, and it wasnt going that fast so they were going to send me home, and just as we were walking out of labor and delivery, there was a pop noise, and then a huge gush of water, my water had broken right at the door. so we turned around and got to stay! jake was born 8 hours later.
but if we had made it to the car, i would have been upset, i cant imagine having to clean up that mess! it was tons of water!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I was at home in bed. My midwife stripped my membranes 2 days before my due date, I started having contractions the next morning at 2am. And my water didn't break until I was 6 cm dilated.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I was in the hospital with all three. THey were all induced

Calimama replied: I was induced... boring. dry.gif

momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: With the first, we had a group of people over because it was our Friday ritual to all go out to eat. Since I was due that day (2/19), they told me to pick. My body must have know I was close because nothing sounded good. I finally told them to let me go pee and then we would leave. When I saw something that sounded good we would stop. I had just finished peeing and was getting ready to stand up and my water broke (that was 8 pm). Thankfully I didn't have a mess to clean up. I yelled for DH that my water had broke and so we argued back and forth about how I could have just peed again. He was wrong. So all of us left for the hospital. I have such good friends that 1 stayed all 14 hours of labor (well 5 mins short) and another drove 3 hours at midnight to be there when she was born. I had to push for 4 hours before she finally came into this world.

With my second I was induced. The only funny thing with her was when my OB stripped my membranes, I dind't lose a lot of fluid, so when she was born he got a shower. Sorry Dr. L. With her thankfully my labor was only 8 hours.

Boo&BugsMom replied: At the hospital with both, because both had to be induced...stubborn boys. dry.gif It was nice to not have anythig embarassing happen though. smile.gif

hoosier momma replied: I had to be induced at 41 weeks and 4 days.

MotherForever2043 replied: With Esther I was at home, Amber was the same thing. Then Jordan, I was induced. Nothing too interesting rolleyes.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: Nothing too exciting here either, I was induced with Blakely. Being over-due is the worst ever!!!!

Cece00 replied: I never went into labor on my own. I was induced with my oldest, and had a csection...then I had repeat csections with the other 3.

zdk753 replied: W/ Zach I was in bed. W/ Dylan I was at a car lot. And w/ Kailynn I was in the hospital.

HuskerMom replied: Dh and I were at home watching the Nebraska/Iowa state game. Of course we had to stay to watch the end. Then when we did call the doc he said we'd probably have a while to wait but we should go ahead and come in. Dh had always wanted to have the whole fast crazy drive to the hospital, but since we didn't have to hurry he said I cheated him out of that (joking of course). rolling_smile.gif He said next time he's going to pretend we have to get there fast, even though it'll be a scheduled c-section. wub.gif

moped replied: Contractions started int he middle of the night.

I won't post what I think brought labor on - some might be disgusted biggrin.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I was induced with alyssa and had a c-section
