When you love somebody...
Danalana wrote: You will make little sacrifices, such as eating food that makes you almost physically ill...just because he made it for you and is so proud. i'm not entirely sure what Richard made for me, but there is beef, vegetables and potaoes. I guess it's sort of like a beef stew. well, it's frozen and you can cook it on the stove or the microwave. He opted for the microwave. He also cooked biscuits, and they are very good....layers of buttery goodness. Unfortunately, I was practically gagging on the rest of it I didn't let him know that, though. I know he did it to please me and, darn it, I am going to be pleased!
amymom replied: Oh Gosh! I remember doing that one time. I had a boyfriend who made dinner for me. It was all mostly good, except for the mussels! He tried and I ate it. Sadly, I got a very serious bout of food poisoning! I never told him. It was the summer flu!!! I can smile about it today.
I am glad your honey made you something, and glad the biscuits were good!!!
gr33n3y3z replied: I did that also Ed made dinner and made Kale as a veggie OMG it was the worst night of my life trying to eat something that I knew was disgusting and hard to swallow bc of the taste lol
Boys r us replied: Luckily my Dh only tries to cook on the grill and he's pretty good at that!! LOL That was sweet of you to choke it down!!
redplaydoh replied: I'm blessed with a DH that can cook wonderfully... I think he's choked down food a few times that I've made.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: My hubby sucks at cooking...but he tries, sometimes.
He tries more often now that I've put my foot down and told him there are NO EXCUSES for ruining a meal - if he can read, he can cook...and there is no shortage of recipes around.
msoulz replied: Me too - cooking is not my thing but I do my best, where he enjoys it and is good at it (no coincidence, I believe).
You all are so much nicer than I - if I don't like it, I just can't choke it down. I'll "lose my appetite" and hide in the pantry with a box of cookies instead!!
lesliesmom replied: My husband is a great cook so I don't have to worry about that. It's when I cook that he runs. his favorite story is to tell people the first time I made him a Tuna Noodle Casserole. Never made it before, never liked it, don't eat it. Called his mom for a recipe and she gave it to me... HOWEVER, she left out one key part... to cook the noodles...oops. So, it was a very crunchy casserole but bless his soul he ate it that night and had it for leftovers too...
CantWait replied: Well it was really sweet of you to choke it down. Hope his next attempt is better.
Danalana replied: Haha...he's fine at cooking on the grill. I guess I went ahead and ate it because he was saving me from having to make something. I got off work and was exhausted. One time, before we were married, we were at his brother and sister-in-law's house. He was going to cook chicken...you know, the frozen chicken breasts that just have to be cooked for about 40 minutes? Well, richard looked at the directions for the microwave...and then proceeded to do it in the oven. He cooked them like 7 minutes I told him he wasn't allowed to mess with chicken again...
Calimama replied: Unfortunately for me I have a horrible gag reflux so Antonio knows right away whether I like something or not.
A&A'smommy replied: That was super sweet of him, and great of you to pretend to like it!! I'm guess I'm pretty lucky not that my husband ever cooks (or would I expect him too) but he is a better cook than i am!!
