What's the weather like - where you live?

Okay I lied...it's not a good morning. Someone....anyone.....tell me why I live in Canada?

It's....get this....*drum roll*..... -40 (that NEGATIVE fourty for anyone who tried to convince themselves there isn't really a dash in front of the number) here in alberta this morning. The news guy this morning thought he was being pretty funny when he said, "Well folks, with the wind-chill it's minus fourty BUT on this day last year, it was minus sixty, so count your blessings." I've already hired the hitman to deal with said news guy.

I'm really looking forward to driving to work this afternoon.

On a funny note, my 7 year old who has a great sense of humour, opened the door to go to school, stood there for half a second before saying, "Mom, why does God hate us?" My dh, who never misses a beat, quipped, "We signed a pact with the devil back in the 70's.... it was all downhill from there." lol!

What's the weather like where you live? If it's warm and sunny, please lie and tell me it's ice cold or I fear I will have to hate you out of pure jealousy.

Mommy2BAK replied: LOL Thats really cold, but atleast you have a good sense of humor about it! Well I hate to tell you this but here in Arkansas the high is supposed to be 71 today, but if it makes you feel any better we have a tunderstorm watch for today!

superlydia replied: Fricken BRRRRRR . I spent a night in Tok, Alaska last year and it was -20. That was the coldest I have ever felt. So cold that it hurts to breath. We had to use a hairdryer to thaw out the lock to open the cartop carrier.

In colorado it's snowing and windy but not nearly as cold. I think it's in the 20's.

5littleladies replied: It's a balmy 31 degrees where I live today. It's actually pretty nice outside! On the downside though temperatures are supposed to get down to -18 this weekend (farenheit). BRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The creeks are up and it's hard to get around if you don't live in town

I say forget the rain and let it snow!

I'm pretty much used to the cold by now but I still remember when I was a kid my mom warned me not to go outside with wet hair. Being the obedient child I was, I threw my wet hair in a ponytail and went out to play. Sure enough, that bad boy froze and snapped right off. I ended up with one of those great buzz cuts boys are so fond of. Of course, the pain of that was nothing compared to sticking my tongue to a frozen street light in the middle of the mall parking lot and hearing people walk by and mutter 'dumb kid, serves her right'. Ah, the memories

MomToMany replied: Here in north-central Minnesota it is snowing like crazy, and then its going to get real cold, down to -40 F the rest of the week. We won't even get above 0.

mom21kid2dogs replied: It's in the mid 60's right now and on track for a record high 70 degrees in southeastern Ohio. We're under flood warnings for the third time in 3 weeks (our county has been declared a disaster area twice in the last month!!) and it looks like it's getting ready to pour. I'm not a fan of -40 degree weather but I'd love some snow. We're on track to have a second full winter with none and Olivia & I love snow!!
Love your DH's response! I believe he might be right!!

MomofJandB replied: We are having unseasonable weather here in northern Ohio. It is supposed to get up to 60 today, but the amount of rain we've had is awful! It is disgusting outside. We've actually had thunder and lightning...odd for January! There is flooding everywhere! Actually, Bush has declared a state of emergency for parts of Ohio because of flooding! Luckily, it's not affecting me, but I've seen pictures of places it is and it lookes miserable. What worries me is what will happen in those places when our temps plummet this weekend to the teens and low twenties as the high and even lower at night!!! What a mess! Is spring here yet?!

mummy2girls replied: Im where you are so im sad too.. Im in alberta as well so its -40...Im flipping cold. Jennas nose is running from her cold and when we stepped outside her snot froze...LOL.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: A big snow storm just hit Thunder Bay. We are supposed to get 15cm of snow, and the winds are just awful! It has died down a little bit, but is supposed to continue snowing all day! So much for grocery shopping tonight.

OMG..I don't think I ever have or ever want to have weather like that!!

I live in VA and am currently in SHOCK fro the COLD 40 degrees we have today..normally that would be fine weather for January here in VA, but I just returned from sunny 80 degree florida on Monday..ughh I wanna go back!

It's about 78 here. Dry, sunny and breezy. I've got the windows all open in the house and it's beautiful. Sorry!

I guess it's that awful weather you guys have that is keeping all of the US citizens who hate Bush from migrating to your country.

I remember last year when it got down to -50C WOW that was cold too!!!!

It's about 65 degrees here in Dayton, OH. We have the windows open in the middle of January, how crazy is that! Just a few weeks ago, we had 16 inches of snow.

My2Beauties replied: Oh my that is too cold for my britches! It's 70 here today in Louisville, Ky. HOwever it's been raining now for quite a few days on and off and the Ohio River is up about 7 feet Our streets downtown (where I work ) are flooded up until a certain point. Luckily I'm far back enough from the river that it hasn't affected the street my building is on, but down on River Rd....well let's just say it's living up to it's name now! It's supposed to get back down to 20 degrees tomorrow, I don't understand this weather, one day it's beautiful 70 degrees with a little wind, the next day it's friggin' 20 degrees! Hmph

The last couple of days have been absolutely beautiful in the low-to-mid 70's. (It was 67 when I left for work at 6.30 this morning)

However, a 'cold' front is coming in and suppose to get up to 'only' 53 tomorrow.

Right now, it is raining off and on.

I just got home from work and it's miserable out there. I could barely see to drive thanks to the wind blowing the snow across the highways but you know, Ill take that over flooding and the tragedy in Asia. I guess the saying is true that it doesn't matter how bad I've got it, someone else has it worse, but I tell ya it's damn cold!

Looking at the weather happening all over the world makes me wonder if mother nature saw that movie 'The day after tomorrow' and didn't want some hollywood big shot to outdo her.

loveydad replied: about 30 degrees with a horrible wind and a couple feet of SNOW on the ground. I hate snow! However it's warm here by the fire. I moved he glider down next to the fire so I could rock the kiddos where its warm!

mom89 replied: Hmm..lets see. Today it was in the lower 70's-as well as the last couple of days-its been nice..but then starting tomorrow its going to get cold again. Which will be in the 50's or so. UGH!

That's what we say here in Oregon.

Been pretty mild here. Cold and rainy mostly but not too bad.
