What's "in" for hair color this summer?

coasterqueen wrote: I'm going to get my hair down this Saturday with the spa gift certificate DH and the girls got me. I've been waiting for months to get it re-colored and highlighted so I'm thrilled! I've decided to keep my length because I'm really happy with it. I'll just have them spruce up my layers. But what's "in" for hair color this summer? Does anyone know? It seems everytime I go to the salon (which is about 2x a year, lol) what I want as far as highlights and shade of brown hair color they tell me is "out" for that season rolleyes.gif so I'd like to do my homework before going.

ETA: that my hair color now is a medium brown color, and then I have dark brown, reds, and light blonde/brown highlights in it now. The master stylist did this because he said that since my hair is such a dark dark brown the color highlights he put in there will make my hair color last longer so you don't see the roots as well - it worked. thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have not clue I just go with what looks good on me and I think I fianlly have it laugh.gif now I just need to re-touch it up. I have the brown underneath (its actually my natural color, blond on top with highlights and lowlights.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I actually just asked my stylist this question last time I was there for a cut - which was about two weeks ago. I go to an Aveda salon, so I think they're pretty up on the latest, I think. She told me that the natural look is in, so more low-lights. Sortof like what your master stylist did...sticking to your natural color, but changing it up with some warm carmels and reds instead of going with highlights like blonde.

Have fun! Pull out some pics from a magazine before you go!

boyohboyohboy replied: rolleyes.gif I think that any highlights are pretty....

coasterqueen replied:
Thanks Rae for the info. See, now I would of thought because of summer that light highlights would be in. I'm always clueless about this. Well, cool now I know and I have some mags so I'll definitely look at some pics and take one with me. thumb.gif It is definitely easier for me to go with low lights especially since I can't afford to go every 6 weeks for color, this lasts a bit longer.

MommyToAshley replied: Not sure either. I actually just died mine a little darker. But, Ashley told me that I should die it green. laugh.gif

Kait would want mine Pink if I asked her rolling_smile.gif .

coasterqueen replied:
Kylie has said she thinks I should get pink or purple hair. rolling_smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
I am glad our girls are not the stylest, we would have some pretty 'fun' colored hair.

coasterqueen replied:
laugh.gif I'm thinking someone in my family slipped her a picture of me w/pink hair from long ago. tongue.gif blush.gif

My2Beauties replied: I think low lights would look beautiful on you Karen. thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Thanks LeaAnn. I love the lowlights on me, but I really like to go with what's out there when I can which is strange for me not being a fashion addict laugh.gif .
