What the heck?!?!? - I am so livid! (kind of long)

MoonMama wrote: My day has been crazy and I am livid!!!! growl.gif growl.gif This morning at about 11:30am my doorbell rings. So I look out and see that its the humane society. huh.gif So I open the door to see what's going on. At which time the lady in an extremely nasty way and tone tells me....They just received another complaint about my dogS. huh.gif My dogs as in more then one? huh.gif I am confused as all get out now. unsure.gif I calmly say ma'am what do you mean by another complaint, I honestly don't know what is going on? I have know knowledge of any other complaints or why there would be any. And I only have ONE small dog. She then even nastier tells me not to take that tone with her (WTF? I didn't have a tone but I'm about to). She goes on to say I was warned before that it was my last warning to control my dogs. That I needed to stop lying and that she needed to take the dog. At which point I lost it! soapbox.gif soapbox.gif soapbox.gif soapbox.gif And told her she was NOT taking my dog (who isn't even here at the moment) and needed to explain to me exactly what was going on NOW! growl.gif growl.gif She starts yelling at me and saying she will NOT explain and I qoute "s**t" to me, and to relinquish the dogs RIGHT NOW. I knew whatever was going on was bull because my dog has been with my parents at their cabin for the last week. At this point I tell her (again calmly) to leave my property immediately, and go inside and shut my door and call the police. The lady stands outside on my porch banging and I mean BANGING on my door for get this the whole 75 minutes it took the police to get to my house. By this time I had finally got ahold of DH and he is trying to rush home from Boulder, CO (about a 3-3 1/2 hour drive away), Braedin is screaming because some nasty lady is banging on the door which is scaring him, and its past his nap time and he of course can't sleep through the noise. So the police get there. And the lady goes off about how I am unruly and should be arrested, that I have had SIX warning to control my dogs and that I need to relinquish them. I once again calmly tell the police everything that has happened her yelling, cursing at me in front of my child no less. That I have received ZERO warnings about my dog ONE SMALL dog and that I had know idea anyone had any issue with her. That she will not tell me what the complaints were or when they happened. She goes off and says "The lying little B***H has 4 dogs, she has been warned about controlling them SIX times! They are out of control, biting at the kids in the area, always on the neighbors property, outside 24/7 and barking at all hours!" blink.gif huh.gif blink.gif huh.gif blink.gif And that they received yet another complaint this morning that one bit and broke skin on one of areas kids. WHAT?!?! Again I have ONE dog, have NEVER recived a warning, my dog hardly barks and when she does its not very loud, and is NEVER EVER outside alone let alone on someone else proporty. Has NEVER EVER bit at anyone, and has been with my parents 2 hours away all week! growl.gif growl.gif We literally went back and forth about it for 3 hours (this whole thing went on in total for close to 6 1/2 hours). The police are making all these calls trying to figure out what's going on. It finally turns out she had the wrong address/house! YOU THINK!?!?!?! growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif Once this is realized she talks to the police (they went down by her truck so I have know idea what was said) then she leaves. The police officer tells DH and I how sorry he were and for the inconvenience, and just horrible he felt she was and would have been very angry too. He also said that he would be fallowing up to make sure something was done (an apology to us or something) . I called down to the humane society and talked to the supervisor/person in charge there. All he says to me is "Yeah I heard and it sucks. She wasted an entire work day at your house." blink.gif ohmy.gif blink.gif ohmy.gif blink.gif Never once did I receive an apology from any of them for anything. I'm sorry but I don't think a little I'm sorry for wasting MY day, my husbands day, getting my child off schedule and scaring him, cursing and yelling at me, etc. is asking too much. I am so LIVID right now! growl.gif growl.gif Sorry this got so long and if you made it this far thanks for listening. blush.gif

luvbug00 replied: wow! that lady is phyco! how could they employ somone like that? dry.gif

luvmykids replied: OMG, it would be comical if it hadn't happened to someone I actually know (well, sort of know laugh.gif ). I am so, so sorry about the whole ordeal, she could have nicely double checked things on HER end dry.gif

I didn't even know the Humane Society got that involved, maybe they should relinquish that job back to Animal Control rolleyes.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: I'd be trying to get that woman fired if I were you - she shouldn't be dealing with the public if she can't treat them with respect (and can't bother to double check that she's at the right house ). rolleyes.gif

Cece00 replied: You need to get in touch with some sort of corporate office for them & complain BIG TIME about this.

HuskerMom replied: That's horrible! I can't believe in the 6 1/2 hours it didn't click to her that she had the wrong address! If she had been reasonable about it then the whole thing wouldn't have lasted more than 5 minutes!

Celestrina replied:
Definitely. Between what she did and not getting any type of an apology should be enough for action to be taken. The only thing they complained about was how she wasted her day. mad.gif

MoonMama replied:
My point exactly....DH has some calls in to some people high up and will fallow up with them tomorrow. So we will see what happens. wacko.gif

Celestrina replied: Good. You should get an apology in writing. If anything she should come in person to apologize, if you could tolerate seeing her again.

Calimama replied: Wow, I'd def. be calling a supervisor!!

gr33n3y3z replied: Make her life difficult press charges agaist her and maybe she would tones her attitude down she had no business acting that way and she should have said sorry reguardless if she was imbarressed of the wrong house or not a person does not act that way.
Sorry that happend
hug.gif

msoulz replied: Wow, and just where did she think you were hiding these 4 ferocious dogs while she was breaking your door down??

I am beyond words at how you were treated. That is so far from unacceptable. I hope you do pursue this and something is done so she does not treat others like that.

So sorry you and Braedin had to go through that. Poor kid. sad.gif

grapfruit replied: I think a scathing editorial to the local newspaper would be in order...maybe a call to the local news stations as well....

What a *$&%^!!!!

My friends have a neighbor behind them that has a akita mix that has NO shelter (no matter what the weather), doesn't seem to have water, and barks NON-STOP. They won't even knock on the door to tell them to shape up. So send that lady this way so she can take THAT dog. wink.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: Wow! wacko.gif Why didn't she verify the address before she went over to your house? Don't you think she would have made the proper calls to begin with after you started looking confused? Duh lady! rolleyes.gif What a nutjob! There is NO excuse for her actions and the way she treated you. I'd be getting her in trouble bigtime, and the person who didn't seem to care when you first called about her. That's ridiculous!!! growl.gif I'm angry for you just reading that!

MommyToAshley replied: Ummm...where did she think your four unruly dogs were when she was pounding on the door for 75 minutes? I don't know any dog that would be quiet for that, let alone 4 unruly dogs. She sounds a bit out there... any reasonable person would have figured out in a matter of minutes that it was the wrong address. And as for the police, I am surprised they stayed there that long. Usually they resolve the situation and move on -- they should have had her leave and you follow-up with animal control office. Sounds like a chaotic day, I'm sorry you had to deal with all that.

holley79 replied: Keep bugging the higher ups. Also write a letter to the local paper and to the local news. Sorry all this happened to you. That's horrible!

my2monkeyboys replied: I can't believe you didn't punch her -- I certainly would have.
I'd certainly press charges... there has to be some kind of law she broke. I know you can't go to someone's house and do all of that and not have broken some kind of law. I'd also let all the news stations and newspapers know, as well as hounding the h*ll out of the Humane Society head dipsticks about it.
I don't even know if they H Society can legally take your animals, regardless of what they do... from what I understand they are not law, and that sort of thing is left up to animal control.
Ah, I'm so angry over this!!! I can't imagine how you feel! I hate, hate, hate people like that anyway, much less people like that that also happen to be psychotic!!

growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif

MoonMama replied: Well DH talked to the head big wig and she is going to call us back Monday and let us know more. But she was so highly ticked and was very apologetic and gave us her cell phone number. As far as the news paper goes I did write an email the local news stations this morning so we will see what comes of that. And the police officer called me this morning and told me too that he recommends I press charges. I'll let you know when I knew more. rolleyes.gif

MoonMama replied:
I know right. rolleyes.gif emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

CantWait replied:
Hopefully something is done. That's horrible. I'm sorry you and Brae had to go through all that. sad.gif hug.gif
