tonight is dinner and a movie, then talking more about our baby.

Bee_Kay replied: Dh surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of roses.

I got him a card and I decided to bake him a cherry chip cake (he has an insatiable sweet-tooth) with white frosting and I bought red icing to write I LOVE YOU or something on it.

I bought my kids Valentine candy (the big red heart ones). smile.gif

BAC'sMom replied: Lunch with the Mr. and then 17 Sweetheart Roses showed up this afternoon. One for each Valentines Day we have spend together. Oh, how sweet! wub.gif

luvmykids replied: Nothing yet, probably won't either. We have a running joke b/c one year he forgot until late that night, and the store already took down all the vday stuff and put out easter, so for vday I got an easter card and candy, so I always tell him to put whatever it is off unitl easter. But I'm fine with it, we usually have steak and crab after the kids go to bed and just hang out.

C&K*s Mommie replied: ohmy.gif wow! hope he gets some sleep tonight will all that sugar coursing through his blood. laugh.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Well..... unsure.gif DH ordered a dozen mixed roses from 1-800 Flowers, and they arrived All beat the heck up. laugh.gif There's 5 yellow ones that look good, but the red and orange ones look like they're about ready to die. He's totally POed about it, but I like them. It's nice to get them every once in a while. wub.gif

PrairieMom replied: we did ours last night. We went out for dinner with out the boy. We also rented Batman Begins, but I feel asleep 1/2 way through. ( I had already seen it) we didn't even do cards this year. I'm keeping a tight fist on the check book! laugh.gif

luvmykids replied: Does it count if it isnt from DH? my sweet next door neighbor just brought me a bag of her sons stuff to give to Colt, and then she gave me Strawberries & Champagne Bubble Bath and Lotion from Victorias Secret. Yummy ...... wub.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: I just wanted to add that last night, at Midnight, Justin told me, "I wanted to be the first one to say Happy Valentines' Day. I love you so much!" Ahh...he's so sweet to me! One minuete into V-Day and he's already musshy! wub.gif

luvmykids replied: Jeff woke up earlier than me (SHOCKER!) and made coffee (SHOCKER NUMBER TWO) and brought me a cup in bed. He forgot to say Happy Vday but I let it go ... I'm sure he meant to wink.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Rich and I buy each other a lot throughout the year, so we rarely get gifts on V-day. But I did get a beautiful card and single red rose sitting on the kitchen table this morning. And DH, Wil and I met at Starbucks for coffee this morning since DH was too busy to do lunch or dinner tonight. wub.gif I picked up some steaks and I will make a good dinner for my sweetie! love2.gif

Bee_Kay replied:
LOL! You wouldn't believe the sweets he can eat.... and the booger somehow doesn't get fat!!!

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I got a matching set of ruby earrings, necklace, and ring in the shape of hearts. I was shocked, because I am lucky if I get a card. He said that it was for all the times he didn't get me anything.

I got DH a card and a box of chocolates

We got Mackenzie a card and a stuffed bear with a heart that say Hug Me.

I will post a picture of my jewlery later.

C&K*s Mommie replied: user posted image bad pic taken with my cell

Chris had a co-workers wife make this for me. It was a hat box with gifts inside. He told her that I liked Thomas Kinkade, and she bought all sorts of things like that. It had:

~two magnets that have beautiful quotes on them (they are on the refrig)
~ a Thomas Kinkade Mother's memory book for her child
~ a scripture/quote book by TK,
~a big spiral bound journal that I will use to record my thoughts to the girls
~a Beacon of Hope musical collection item
~a silver necklace and pendant in this beautiful silver box with my initials on it.
~Anne Geddes Cherished thoughts with love
~Anne Geddes baby (that the girls love too)

It was not specifically for V-day but for several occassions rolled into one. One was including V-day. wub.gif wub.gif

booey2 replied: Nothing yet, will probably get the traditional single rose and card from DH but I don't think he will remember. He is going out tonight to p/u a vanity and cabinet for the bathroom and will be home late. I got him 2 cards and a chocolate, the boys are just getting chocolate kisses.

TeagansMom609 replied: I got a card and a Nike running outfit. The pants are too long so im going to take it all back and get something else. Oh, and I got my hair done today.

I got DH a card and im cooking dinner and baking Valentine cookies tonight. I was going to bake him mini heart shaped cheese cakes but I don't feel like having cheese cake in the house while im on a diet. blush.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: DH and I were totally on the same wavelength this year - he is cooking me dinner and I am baking him dessert - both of us were planning on surprising the other. emlaugh.gif

jcc64 replied: Wow, some of you guys go all out for V-day. Usually, we barely acknowledge it (both dh and I think V-day, along with Mother's Day and Father's Day were created by Hallmark to puff up sales during the slow business periods rolling_smile.gif ) This year, dh capitulated and bought me a lovely bouquet of Holland flowers, and I made him homemade chocolate covered strawberries.

huggybugboy replied: I got a beautiful silver bracelet and was so shocked! DH hasnt been doing too well in the gift area lately. I got a movie too, Elizabethtown.

MM'sMama replied: So far NOTHING! dry.gif

I spent about $300 on him love2.gif, because I got a really nice bounce from work and I have never been able to do this before so I am so thankful I was able too. And he is ver much worth it! love2.gif love2.gif love2.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Maddie made me a card from she and Ethan wub.gif

Scotty got me some DELICIOUS chocolates..some of the best I've ever had and I want to scarf the whole box in one sitting. And he got me some skins for my ipod. biggrin.gif Oh and I can't forget about his card he got me. wub.gif Thanking me for 10 wonderful years and he mentioned how he could never live without me. wub.gif Awwww! I love that man! love2.gif

We met 10 years ago today! happy.gif

Ooops. forgot to mention what I got him. laugh.gif

I got him a mushy card and some undershirts and underwear laugh.gif rolling_smile.gif No, I'm not kidding. blush.gif I also ordered him a watch, but it wont' be in until next week or so. blink.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: DH has class tonight so we went out to eat Saturday night. He brought home roses Friday and a card. I made him a goodie bag with candy, boxers, a love song CD and some other fun romantic stuff. And Thomas gave him a card this morning. Oh, and I baked him some brownies to come home to tonight.

3_call_me_mama replied: I gave GC for a massage, a mushy card and a big bag of skittles.
Kids got carebears, a book and card and a small box of chocolates each.
I got a silly but mushy card, 2 mini bags of Cadbury mini eggs (ABSOLUTE Most favorite candy ever!), a single longstem red rose, a subscription to mothering magazine.... and a + HPT!!!!! wub.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Our family generally doesn't do much more than handmade gifts or things for the kids. We are more of a "doing" type of family vs. "giving".

On that note, my DH left town at 11am for a 3 day business trip to Buffalo. I dug his heavy coat out of storage last night and laid it on his suitcase for him along with a note. I also tucked the card that K painted for him into his suitcase so he will find it when he unpacks. Then I made breakfast & a nice warm lunch for him before he left to go to the airport.

He knew that I was going to need a break so he took both of the girls to the store this morning to do the grocery shopping. When he came back he'd picked up some tulips, apple turnovers and chocolates. Tulips, because I LOVE them. He rememberd that I was supposed to have a bouquet of tulips for our wedding but they didn't come into the florist so I ended up with roses. I was actually bummed about some stupid flowers...so unlike me. LOL Anyway, I got a bouquet of lovely tulips and some potted ones. He's such a romantic.

1lilpeanut2love replied: My So go me 5 balloons-cute and different colors. He also got me a nice gold bracelet. I really like it. We got our little one a card, a love teddy bear, a little picture heart frame, an angel that says 'love' on it, and a heart basket. All so very cute.

~~*Missi*~~ replied: Chris and I aren't exchanging anything.
We both couldn't think of anything so we decided to take that money and spend it on Sabrina (go figure) LOL

Chris and I did go out to dinner and rented SAW and Just like Heaven to watch.
Plus I had surgery this morning and really not in the mood to be out and about. In a few months we are letting grandma (my mom) and grandpa watch Sabrina and going to Niagara on the Lake for a few days or Cleveland to visit friends. Anywhere but HERE!

CantWait replied:
ohmy.gif Did I miss an earlier post, or omgosh did I forget sad.gif ??? sad.gif

Congrats hug.gif That's awesome news.

CantWait replied: I got nothing...DH says it's coming and I'll like it, but I think that's just him trying to save butt. I'm not expecting anything dunno.gif

mummy2girls replied:
awww I LOVE TULIPS! my fav flower... maby because my dad is dutch...OOL

mummy2girls replied: I got nothing...LOL...but im single so that could be why...LOL

I did as a joke phone aron up and ask him where my valentine flowers are..and he says.. at the store you better go get them!

MM'sMama replied: I ended up getting a card from Bricee wub.gif taht he made love2.gif

Nothing from DH I don't even know where he is and his cell is off bawling.gif dry.gif.

Mom2Boyz replied: I got a dozen red roses with 2 balloons and a teddy bear from DH and the boys then Larrys parents came over and watched the boys tonight while we went out for dinner. It was so weird just the two of us having dinner. I can't remember the last time we went out to dinner by ourselves.

A&A'smommy replied: wow seems like everyone had a nice day!!

dh got me a chair that I wanted (he also got one for my friends wub.gif ) and a BEAUTIFUL orchid. I got him a sandwhich maker and some candy and he bought himself a game and joy stick LOL

We went got subway and went to the spot where he proposed to me three years ago today!! love2.gif

luvmykids replied: We are so predictable! I made a really yummy dinner (t-bones, king crab, stuffed potatoes, ceasar salad, strawberry shortcake) and he gave me a giant hersheys kiss and some kind of stuffed animal with a picture frame in its tummy. Sound just about like every other vday .... wub.gif

booey2 replied: Well I was a little peeved mad.gif mad.gif to say the least. I had at least expected a card from DH, instead he went out with my BIL to pickup a new vanity and cupboard for the bathroom from price club. They then get home and bring in everything from the car and my BIL looks at me and says "Well I guess this is your V-day gift?" I am like if you say so. DH looks at me and says, "Well we never really do anything for V-day." So, mad.gif I remind him of the last 15 V-days we have had and that he at least got me a card and a single rose. He then went out to his car and gets me a chocolate covered strawberry that he got from a co-worker who makes chocolates on the side. He then says that the night isn't over yet, so I just walked away. I didn't even eat my dinner because the boys got me exhausted chasing after them while DH was out and they were all wound up because of the treats they got at school. I told him he should just go ahead and eat the strawberry because I don't ususlaly eat strawberries or chocolate covered ones. He was a little hurt and said that I should eat it. SO I have it here at work and will try it if I don't like it I can at least throw it out. I had gone out on Monday to the store for other stuff and picked up DH two (2) cards, 1 funny and 1 romantic and a little chocolate heart, a symbol that he has my heart in his hands. He had gone to bed early snooze.gif and only discovered them around 10pm when he slide his hands under his pillow and asked when I put them there, I told him earlier. Boy did he feel bad. So he decided he wanted to make up, so we shared another valentine gift. wink.gif blush.gif

Earlier in the evening Matthew asked what Daddy had given me and I just shrugged my shoulders so he came over and gave me a hug and a kiss and says; "There mom, that is your Valentine gift." He melted my heart. love2.gif

Sorry this turned into a vent, thanks for listening.

luvmykids replied:
I'm sorry! hug.gif We truly don't make a big deal out of vday, but there's still a little part of me that hopes he'll suprise me some time. And since you guys have your "tradition" thats the least he could've done! hug.gif

3_call_me_mama replied:
Nope no post.. I just put it in here... wanted to see how many people actualyl read everythgin peopel write smile.gif

And thank you!! We are very excited smile.gif
I'll adda ticker soon but probabyl won't make a general post about it !

booey2 replied:
Thanks, I am still in shock a little and he has no clue how peeved I really was because it is not my style to say anything.

Bee_Kay replied: Yesterday, after dinner, I told my husband that he really didn't have to send me such a huge bouquet of roses because we did agree that we wouldn't exchange gifts the day before.....

He laughed and asked me "When did you buy me the card? Was it before or after you got the roses?"

I said "Before......".

He laughed and said "See you broke the agreement first!! Plus, I know d*mn well if I hadn't gotten you something that 2 years from now when you're mad at me you would say 'remember that Valentines Day and you didn't get me anything'?".

LMAO! He knows me so well !! laugh.gif blush.gif

booey2 replied:
WOW, congrats, shows how much I really skim the posts here blush.gif . You will have to take it easy on the gazelle now, but you can still use it because you started so early in your pg. CONGRATS again. baby.gif thumb.gif

Bee_Kay replied:
Shoot!
I am still pretty new here and trying to pay attention to who-is-who and what is going on in whos life (if that makes sense).

I actually did notice the HPT comments, but wasn't sure if it had already been announced and I didn't want to be the only one who didn't notice....

Anyways..... CONGRATULATIONS!!! hug.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: Thank again wub.gif

kimberley replied:
thumb.gif thumb.gif congrats!!!!!!! that is wonderful! h&h 9mos! hug.gif

i got nada. rolleyes.gif i took a pic of the kids and made a nice ecard for him. he worked so we didn't see each other. maybe i will put the pic in my avatar.

Kaitlin'smom replied: DH got me a cute card and a dozen red roses, Kait got me a card. Kait got 3 pink roses a small box of chocolates, a dvd and a card. DH got a couple cards and I have something that has not yet arrived wink.gif for him.

KingMom replied: Keith, Colin, and I made breakfast yesterday morning (DH just came in from nightshift at 7am yesterday), waffles and sausage. He never said Happy V-day until I said come give me a kiss!

I then got dressed for work, he can back and had Colin bring me a little jewely bag, it had a silver bracelet inside with a heart pendent on it that had my initials engraved on it.

Then I got to work and a couple of hours later got a delivery - went to the security desk and had a dozen fire and ice roses (my favorite, he special ordered them) and 2 balloons from DH And Colin smile.gif

I couldn't believe there would be more. I rushed home so we could go to MIL's house for dinner so my DH could meet her boyfriend (I've seen him only twice while keith was working). When I got in the door, there was a card from Colin and and another from Keith, and he said there's one more thing in the fridge. He went out yesterday and bought everything to make chocolate covered strawberries, even the white swirls were on them. I ate all but one smile.gif

All I got him was this logitech tv remove with lcd screen (I liked it too, considering we went from 3 or 4 remotes to 1) and he got that last Friday when UPS delivered. I haven't had time to even get out and purchase him a card, I'm so bad.

coasterqueen replied: DH and I haven't done V-day for years. He used to get me flowers or jewelry every year but I asked him to stop doing that because we have debt, and there's nothing romantic about getting something when you are in debt and you know it just put you further in debt. happy.gif Just a genuine thought of love of V-day is all I need from him. He got me a beautiful card and of course wrote me the most eloquent letter in it, like always...he makes me cry every time. wub.gif The girls got me a card as well and they made DH and I one too. Well Kylie made it, not Megan. happy.gif Dh said he wanted to get my white chocolate covered pretzels because I've been wanting them for WEEKS but he also knew that I was trying to lose weight and didn't feel giving me something that would make me feel fat later would be romantic and I agreed. I would have liked them when I was eating them but would have been like "uh, why did you give me these, there's another pound". laugh.gif He knows me so well wink.gif.

I got DH a card with a sappy letter in it, a bag of candy corn and a chocolate kiss. wub.gif The girls also got him a card.

We got Kylie the Bambi II dvd, a necklace (cheap one, very cheap, lol) that has her name on it, a chocolate kiss, some candy hearts and stickers.

Megan got the same kind of necklace, but with her name on it, some vanilla wafers happy.gif and both got a card from us.

Oh the girls got us chocolates that the sitter bought for them to give to us, plus a handmade card. wub.gif Dh was kind enough to take the chocolates in to work this morning so I wouldn't eat them. biggrin.gif

Kylie and I also made heart-shaped mini cakes for all of us, heart shaped jello jigglers and cupcakes. Most of the cupcakes were for daycare, though. Since I was at a work event on V-day Ryan and the girls had Kylie's favorite foods for dinner, their mini cake and jello jigglers. Then they watched Bambi II before bed. wub.gif

Oh I forgot to add the best gift DH gave me was taking Megan at 3 am this morning and keeping her til 5:30 am. I was out rather WAY TOO late last night and drank too much for my work event and he knew I needed the sleep. He didn't complain at all. wub.gif
