Weather question for Georgians
coasterqueen wrote: What is the weather like in Georgia in November (Thanksgiving time, to be exact)? We are thinking of flying to Georgia over Thanksgiving to see my niece and nephew and I'm wondering what the weather will be like.
Danalana replied: Karen, I don't live in Georgia, but I'm very close. It really can vary. I have seen Thanksgivings that were pretty darn chilly, but I have also seen them when people were still wearing t-shirts. If you are going, i would go ahead and pack some warm weather clothing, but also bring a couple of t-shirts. Maybe a light jacket. I hope that helped!
coasterqueen replied: Yes, that does. I'm really hoping we can still do some sight seeing while we are there - even if it's cold.
TheOaf66 replied: my co-worker's son lives there and she said it is fairly nice...mid 60's or 70's during the day little cooler at night but that is in the mountains so it depends where you go
indywndy_04 replied: You will be able to do plenty of sight seeing. It does not get cold cold here until January - February.
November is just jeans and t-shirt weather.
A&A'smommy replied: It varies some years though so be sure to bring jackets and long sleeved shirts.. I know here in alabama we have had some years where is gets down in the 30s' around thanksgiving
coasterqueen replied: Hmmm, I wonder if I don't bring long sleeved shirts if that means I'll get to do some shopping.??? Dh might think I'm trying to be sneaky on that one.
indywndy_04 replied: Good one!!!
When and where are you coming to Georgia? Want to meet me and baby Jake?
A&A'smommy replied: ROFL
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Where in Georgia Karen? Well we live pretty close to the boarder so the weather can about the same. It does vary so you never can tell. Like right now. Tallahassee hasn't figured out that it's Fall. We are in the 90's.
coasterqueen replied: Sure I might be able to squeeze a day in there for anyone
She's in Alpharetta. No clue where that's at.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Alpharetta is by Atlanta.
I would say the weather could be in the 60's/70's by then. I would plan on jeans, light tops and a jacket. I would even think that a long sleeved shirt would be too much.
Anyway, it's usually very nice in November, but like some have said, they are known to have cold snaps around then, too.
coasterqueen replied: I was hoping because if we fly I will fly into Atlanta. I don't want to have my in-laws drive very far to get us. We've been to Atlanta before, but I recall it being in April. It's been so long ago.
