WW point info - as promised

ammommy wrote: Here is a simple breakdown of the points system. First, determine your daily target using this chart:

weight points
<150 20
150-174 22
175-199 24
200-224 26
225-249 28

In addition, you get 35 flex points that can be used, but don't have to be used, per week for treats. You should use all target points per day. It really is the minimum that your body needs.

In addition to the points, you need to remember these 8 tips
1) Eat at least 5 servings of fruit/veggies per day
2) Choose whole grain foods when possible
3) Include 2 servings of milk products per day
4) Include 2 servings of healthy oils in your day such as olive, canola, sunflower, etc. This gives you the Vitamin E that you need.
5) Get at least 2 servings of protein per day
6) Limit sugar and alcohol
7) Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day
8) take a daily multivitamin

How to determine points? Use this link http://www.alexnolan.net/software/pointscalc.htm

You can also buy books from WW that have point numbers calculated for common foods. Also, http://www.weightwatchers.com/index.aspx has some great info and you can join the online program to get more detailed info.

Also, try to be "active" for 30 minutes per day or heavy activity like aerobics 4x per week.
HTH everyone!

amynicole21 replied: For the target points, do you pick the points that corrospond to your current weight, or the weight you want to be?? unsure.gif

ammommy replied: Oops, sorry rolleyes.gif
You choose according to your current weight. So as you lose weight, you are "rewarded" by having to eat less laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Thanks SOOO much!!

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: THANKS!!!!!!! banana.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Also, Nursing moms can participate in WW points program too. You add 10 points to your target points range. For example, I get 26 points for my weight and 10 more for nursing. That means I get 36 points total. If you make wise food choices, it's actually a lot of food.

coasterqueen replied:
Agreed. thumb.gif And it does seem like a lot of food! I even heard on some WW message boards that you should eat those extra 10 points every day too. So you should eat your target PLUS those 10 points, it's the minimum your body needs and for milk production.

moped replied: So if I weight 150 I get 22 ponts a day? Is that right?

coasterqueen replied:
Yeah, that's right. Now when you get down to 149 you'll have to go to 20 points.

moped replied: Ok, so what if I had a chicken oriental noodle bowl sup thing for lunch - how do you possibly calculate that?

coasterqueen replied:
This site is good for all WW things: http://www.dwlz.com/

Especially for restaurants, etc, etc.

Do you have the package for the lunch you ate? Or did you make it yourself?

moped replied:
I bought it at the restaurant in my building

coasterqueen replied:
well if you go to that link I gave you you should be able to find info on a "guesstimate" of what the points are on it. Or what I do sometimes is if I know a restaurant that has something like that I'll go to the restaurant page on Dotti's site and use those points.

3_call_me_mama replied: Thanks for hte info. I'm trying to lose based on calories alone, adn it's helpign to cut back on what I'm eating I simply cannot afford to join an online program and often don't have time to check teh point values on thing, but I'm really gonna try to plan out meals better adn therefir eknow ahead what I have used up adn avoid over using points, and also avoid eatingon teh run adn ending up eating high point foods:)
