WE WANNA GO TO DISNEY!!!!!!!!!

jakesmommy08 wrote: Ok so some how we came up with the brainy idea that in september we wanna go to disney in florida. Im trying to research it but WOW theres a lot of stuff! any one ever been there and have any suggestions???? We want our hotel to be really close to disney so we dont have to rent a car. and at a decent price. we dont want to go cheap cheap but not top of the line either!!!!!! i cant wait! ive never been there and ive never flown before!!!!

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm in Florida. I'd reccomend staying at a Disney resort. They are on the property, you get extended access to the park, free transportation to & from the park and other handy benefits. Some of them are less expensive than others. We stayed at the pop music resort and it wasn't a great hotel (think hotel 6ish) but the beds were ok and there were pools. The free transport & parking are worth it alone. You could probably get a hotel off site & get more room for your buck but trust me, the on site is the way to go. Also, depending on how many days you will be there, you can get the hopper passes. Say you will be here for a week, you can get a 3 park hopper pass for 5 days and do what you want. For example, Sat am-animal kingdom, back to hotel for nap sat-pm magic kingdom for the parades. Sunday am magic kingdom for some of the parks then epcot for dinner and an activity or two. Do not try to do too much in a day. I see so many families at the big theme parks where the kids are miserable and the parents are upset. They drive/fly far and have planned forever and spent a bundle but they overplanned. You need to remember that the kids need breaks/naps, meals, & free play time at a playground or whatever. The lines are long and can be taxing on little ones.
Depending on the age of your kids, I'd probably only plan to hit 1 or 2 parks over a few days. That way, you get to see everything at those parks in a leisurly fashion.

have fun!

MommyToAshley replied: Disney has some awesome deals going on right now.... but they are specific dates. That's why we are trying to plan our trip back down there. If you sign up for their emails, then they might send you the 40% off deal for the fall which isn't listed on their website. If we end up going this May instead of September, and we don't use our 40%-off code, I can send you mine.

The end of September is an awesome time to go! We've been to Disney in February and at the end of September(/Oct), and while both were fun experiences, we enjoyed it at the end of September the most. The weather was awesome and it was off-season so it wasn't very crowded.

luvmykids replied: I think a lot of people assume they can do better than going through Disney directly, sometimes you can but like Dee Dee mentioned sometimes they have really great packages.

We haven't gone yet but I've priced it several times and suprisingly, more often that not, the best deal is through them.

lovemy2 replied: We went through AAA - saved almost $400 over using Disney directly - but they do have some awesome deals right now so I am not sure that would still be true - but I know they work directly with Disney so it may be....we stayed on at a Disney resort and did all inclusive, meal plan, park hopper, the whole works - it was so the way to go - and we loved it!!

lisar replied: I would stay at one of the disney all star hotels. They are the cheapest that are actually on disney and you can get a great rate. They will take you to and from the park. I have stayed at the Boardwalk hotel there, and the Animal kingdom one. They were really nice.

Kaitlin'smom replied: a friend of mine is getting ready to go there, she said she just called them on a whim to see what prices were like and she got an awesome deal, on disneys property, park hopper passes, food...ect ect and they had a payment plan for her which worked out its all paid for they dont have to worry about anything other than souvineers. I say call and see what they can do for you, cant hurt.

MommyToAshley replied:
They have some REALLY good deals. If you can go before March, they have buy 4 nights get 3 nights free... on the entire package including the hotel, Disney passes, and meals. Like I said, it's a REALLY good deal, but we just can't take any more time off school this year. Also, if you are military, you can get even better packages.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
there deal was better than that, she asked about that and its not as good as it sounds. I dont know all the details but she said it woudl have cost her more to that then what she got.

MommyToAshley replied:
Wow, I will have to try that. I quoted a vacation online and for 7 days at the Disney hotel, the Disney deluxe dining plan (all meals plus snack), 7 day hopper passes and the flight... it was only $1500 for the three of us. But, that's only if we go before March. I thought that was an incredible deal. Maybe I will call them up when we are ready to book and see if they can beat their advertised price. Hmmmm. Thanks for the tip.

Kaitlin'smom replied:
thats nto a bad price but ya I woudl call you never know what you might get thats better. I have not really tried to figure out if he deal was the best but it sounded good for 5 people, 10 day park hopper for each of them and the kids are to old to get the cheeper rate, on park property, all the food and some other stuff she rattled off, it sounded good, but I dont remember how many nights they are staying.

jakesmommy08 replied: It will only be me and my boyfriend. Next may my son will be 3 so we are gonna take him for his birthday. his attention span is to short right now. lol. Im flying from ohio. The cheapest i have found throught expedia is round airfare, 6 day hopper park and waterpark pass, shuttle to places (i think that was included) and the carribean restort for $2500. (and that only for 2 ppl!) im still trying to search around cuz i kinda hope we can go for cheaper. lol. If anyone happens to find any good deals for sept let me know please! thanks

MommyToAshley replied:
Go to the Disney site and make sure you click on the buy 4, get 3 free deal. Then put in your dates. If you just put in the dates, it doesn't apply the code. You have to click on the deal and then schedule it from there.

I'm from Ohio too... I'm from the Dayton area, you?

Kaitlin'smom replied:
ohmy.gif call them an see what specials you can get. are your travel dates set or are you flexable?

coasterqueen replied:
ohmy.gif You can get a disney cruise for just a bit more for 4 people! Yikes that is high.

jem0622 replied: I have a HS friend who deals with putting together packages. If you are on FB you should find me and then I can get the two of you together! smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: It's kind of ironic that we were talking about Disney, I just got a postcard in the mail with the offer for 7 days (Disney passes, hotel, and dining plan) for $795 for the three of us (Kids eat, stay, and play for free). I'd definitely sign up on their website and/or give them a call.. I am sure you can get a much better deal.
