VW Bus

Well anyways, he comes struting into the house today with this cat ate the mouse/ I robbed the cookie jar look on his face. She raises an eyebrow at him and said, "What did you do this time?" He starts acting like this little kid and is like come see. So she walks outside and here is this 20 window VW Bus sitting in the circular driveway. She is like . He's like "I always wanted one. I saw this one, it's in mint condition and I just had to have it. I called the number on the For Sale sign and went to the bank to get the cash."

Here is what she tells me:

"Holley it is psychedelic complete with flowers. The only thing it doesn't have on it is a peace sign anywhere on it. It also has shag carpet in the darn thing Can you just picture ***** getting out of thing in total cowboy garb? That's not the worse of it, it has a window unit hanging out the back of it because it doesn't have AC".

I sat there and . My only response was at least now you don't have to hook up the trailer to take the minis somewhere. Of course then she starts and turns to ***** and he said, "Oh heck no we are not putting the minis in the van they will ruin my shag.

Ya'll I not only about peed my pants laughing so hard but I also was crying. Shawn thought someone had freaking died.

I don't think I will ever be able to look at another VW Bus the same again. I told her she needed to get a picture of him in it and standing beside it.

Reminds me of my dad though...When I was a teenager, he bought an old Chevy Luv truck that was decked out just like you described. Had the camper on the back with an 80's sparkly rainbow stripe on the side and BLUE shag carpet wall-to-wall on the inside. It was sooooooooooooooo ugly. And I didn't have my license yet, so who do you think I begged to pick me up from school everyday...MY MOM for sure. She had the new Honda!

That is too funny. I love it! When she told me this I about died. I never in my life pictured him doing/ buying something like this. I asked her, "What next a Horse of a Different Color?" She said not to give him any ideas.

I was looking online today at work at VWs they sure have come along way from when I was a kid w/ just the Van and the Bug.

There is nothing new about this one. It's a 1974 ( I think is what my friend said.)

redchief replied: Great idea, Naomi. I think that out of respect for Holley and her DH, we should each go out and find our special VW van and make ours by Avatar for the rest of the week. I got mine!
