Update on my Mom

holley79 wrote: Thank you all for your prayers. They helped tremendously. Annika did very well at the hospital and everyone commented on it. wub.gif

Mom had to have a full hysterectomy. They made a 4 or 6 inch (can’t remember which) incision. She was in surgery for 3.5 hours vs the 4 to 10 they said she was going to be under. She gave the surgeon an anointed prayer band prior to surgery. I also sent the Pastor in to pray with her and the surgeon. Her surgeon had wonderful bed side manner. Once inside they removed the ovary with the tumor attached. They sent it to pathology. Pathology said it was benign. The surgeon went to Pathology after removing her uterus and remaining ovary to look through the microscope his self to be extra sure. He went back to surgery and closed her up. She was still very much out of it when I left to bring Annika home. I wish I could stay the night with her but it’s impossible with the munchkin. The Dr said she would be home Wednesday. Sounds a little soon to me but we always heal better at home. I also have a “spiritual sponsor” (my best friend Laura’s mom) who prayed with me yesterday and told me to have mom read Psalms 88, 89 and 91. She read them to me and I re- read them. What wonderful scripture. Well I am going to go for now.

Again thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I will be back as soon as I can. hug.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: I'm so glad it's over and her tumor was begnin! Yeah! They do leave them go way too early for that surgery. My mom had it done 10 years ago and I stayed with her for 2 weeks while she was recouperating. She needed help 24/7 for most of that time.

JP&KJMOM replied: Glad to know everything went so well. Prayers for her speedy recovery.

holley79 replied: [COLOR=blue]Thank you everyone. My dad was wrong, my mom is still in the hospital. I am not sure when she will be home yet. We are waiting for the results of the lymph node biopsy. I am sure that will be beingn also. They did find cancerous cells in the other ovary but they weren't too worried about those because they took everything out.

Again thank you all so much for the prayers. hug.gif
