Ugh he just wont part with it!

Calimama wrote: So my husband and I have been married a little over a year and we are JUST finally almost done decorating the living room. It's decorated in deep purples, reds and golds.. tons of rich colors since we cant paint base housing. For some reason he INSISTS on keeping this bright RED beanbag. It's huge.. red.. and an eye sore. I thought maybe we could compromise and put it in the closet or something but nooo it has to be right out in the middle of the living throwing off our color scheme and looking.. well... ugly. tongue.gif We have tons of guests coming this upcoming month so I want this thing out of there, but he just refuses. It's almost to the point where I have dreams about stabbing it with a kitchen knife hehe. Do your so's have something they just REFUSE to part with? huh.gif

Cece00 replied: He has these "beer mirrors" that I think are ugly. Luckily he doesnt try to put them up in the house. They are for his "man house" (read: the very large workroom in the backyard) at our new house. Hey, whatever, as long as you arent trying to make them part of my home decor. tongue.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Chris really does not. He has his collectibles like FSU football memorabilia & cards, also hot sauce bottles. He was collecting DUB city die cast vehicles at one time but he no longer does, but he could part with most of it if he really wanted to.

Do you have a cat? Maybe you can blame the sudden rips on it on the cat. sh.gif
That way you have to get rid of it. wink.gif

Or just comprimise that as long as the company is here in a few weeks, the red blob will be put away. After that it is fair game for him to drag it out anytime he wants to.

Besides sometimes people create a focal point of a red wall in their house, to draw attention to it, even though it does not fit anywhere else. Maybe this could be the focal point of the room. emlaugh.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: I would accidentally drop a lit candle or something that would cause a small fire on it, and toss it out while he's at work or something.

(Or just claim that happened) But in order for you to get away with it, you have to act like for a few days you are OK with it being there smile.gif

mckayleesmom replied: UGH...dh had a football one....I eventually got rid of it.

Will he let you recover it?

skinkybaby replied: Let the baby sit on it bare bottom, wait for her to have an "accident" and say her diaper leaked all over the beanbag chair wink.gif

holley79 replied: OMG YES!!!! DH had this hideous couch that he would not part with. I finally pulled a While You Were Out. emlaugh.gif

Calimama replied: Ha the red blob. tongue.gif Anyway no pets.. cant blame them and I think if Bella pee'd on it he would use it anyway. blink.gif It already has a hole.. that I may have ACCIDENTLY (ha) caused with some scissors and he covered it up with DUCK TAPE. I'm worried that no matter what I do to it.. duct tape will become to the solution. He says I will learn to love it. Ha because it's just what I always wanted.. a bright red, duct tape covered sack of beans sitting in my living room. dry.gif

grapfruit replied: This isn't a decor' item. But he has a box of manuels to fix fork lifts (that's his job). It's a huge heavy box. I asked him if he needed to take it to work and he said he had those same books plus like 50 more. So why does he need it??? dunno.gif And he won't let me put it in the basement. Why does it have to be in my living room??? I slide it (ugh, did I mention heavy) into a dark corner by the couch.

I think recovering sounds like a good idea. Will he go for that?

Calimama replied:
Yeah if it can have the Chicago cubs themed cover. rolleyes.gif

CantWait replied: DH use to have a awful beanbag chair also. After he bought it, it lost it's fluff real quick, and sooner or later he parted with it.

Now his big thing is this green lazy boy chair. It's now situated in our eat in kitchen because he doesn't want to hide it. blink.gif

luvmykids replied: I lived with a giant black leather massage chair, you know, that you plug in and then it massages your back? Ugly. UGLY.

PrairieMom replied: My Dh is the same way with all kinds of left over computer crap. We have so many keyboards, and cords and cables, we have a gutted out CPU, and a bunch of hard drives and all that. I guess you never know when you will need something. rolleyes.gif It makes me want to loose my mind.
