Trying Karate!
Our Lil' Family wrote: We're off to our first Karate lesson!! I have been pumping him up hoping he likes it. I'll be sure to take pics and report back later tonight, wish us luck!
DVFlyer replied: I was 6 mos away from testing for my black belt in Tang Soo Do when I was 8 years old. It was great fun.
If we didn't move out of the state, I'd probably be as popular as Jackie Chan right now.
HuskerMom replied:
How fun! Hope he has a great time! Can't wait to see pics!
MoonMama replied: Good luck, I hope he likes it. Can't wait to see pics and hear all about it.
luvmykids replied: I can't wait to see pics, he must've looked SO cute Colt has been begging for Karate lessons forever, I hope T liked it!
Our Lil' Family replied: Well we didn't get a uniform yet because I'm just testing the waters with this. He did fine for the first 10 minutes then a little girl rolled onto him and he freaked out, cried and ran over to me. After that he wouldn't so much as touch the mat. So I didn't get many pics but we'll try again tonight. They'll let me keep trying to see if he warms up to it. I really hope he does, he seemed interested in it when he was watching.
Here's the 2 pics I did get:
luvmykids replied: He's so stinkin cute Sorry it didn't click the first time, I hope he ends up liking it!
holley79 replied: Aww how precious is that!!!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Awwww!! So it is Tae Kwon Do? Cool!
Our Lil' Family replied: Well I guess there is always next year....it was a no go again tonight. Didn't want anything to do with it, then I put him in a spot and he did punches for about 20 seconds and ran to me crying. I don't get it, he's a sociable kid...what's this all about?
moped replied: I think it is pretyt typical. We put Jack is downhill ski lessons this winter and it was a total flop, I think he was just a bit too young.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I bet he's just too young right now. Try again later...he may love it. Remember how horrible Ethan was with T-ball in the beginning? At least they let you try it out before paying. I had to make Ethan play b/c we already dished out the money for it.
MommyToAshley replied: I am sorry it didn't work out. You were smart to wait on buying the uniform until you knew if he liked it. Ashley surprises me sometimes... the things I think she would like she shows no interest in, but then she will like something I thought she'd never like. We tried out a few different things to just determine what she'd like. Maybe he will like it, just give it a year... you can always try soccer, swimming, or another sport this year.
