Edward's Mommy replied: Wow, that's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard of. When I was in elementary school, my girlfriends and I not only hugged, but we held hands and skipped down the hall or on the pavement. I can't believe that they'll punish a little girl for hugging a friend but they'll let a mother who drinks continue to have her children after she already tried to kill them while intoxicated. (This happened to a friend of mine, her mom is always drunk and almost killed her youngest daughter with a knife when she was drunk they still award her custody of her youngest girls.

Lying is just wrong. So that little girl now probably thinks it's not ok to hug her friend but lying is ok.

MamaJAM replied: I swear....this type of stuff is nuts! I can't imagine if my DDs weren't allow to hug their close friends at school! Also - my girls' school - the kids can hug their teachers if they want to.

IMO - A few nuts have really ruined this world for kids today.

Before I get into anything else I just want to ask is this the letter 'complete with teacher's corrections??? Because if it is then I would make the arguement that someone with such horrible grammer should NOT be a teacher in the first place!

As for the hugging Give me a BREAK! All kids hug! I think a school should be more concerned about the children who don't want to hug eachother than the ones who do!!!
