The ultimate in stupidity.
PrairieMom wrote: I'm so completely annoyed. I signed benjamin up for swimming lessons. I paid $15 for 4, 1/2 hour classes. I had to stand in line for 1 1/2 hours at the pool to sign him up. The classes started Last tuesday, but Benjamin had a 104 fever, so we didn't go. Well, the 2nd class is this afternoon, but he still has a 102 fever, so we aren't going. Well, I called the Parks and recreation department and asked them about a refund or possible transferring classes to the next session next month, and she said that each pool handles their own stuff, so I have to talk to them. Fine. So I ask, can you give me a # I can call to talk to them? Nope. Apparently they aren't able to give out the number to the public. WTH? so I said, so I'm gonna have to pack up my sick kid to go down there and talk to them?!?! She suggested I hire a baby sitter. Are you kidding me? I'm gonna pay about $15 to some kid to watch my sick child so I can go all the way to the pool to talk to these people? Not to mention the fact that I am pretty sure they are not going to refund my $ or let me transfer classes. Thank goodness it was only $15. but The whole situation is making me
Mommy2BAK replied: Oh man, that whole situtation just plain SUCKS!
BUT~ I hope Ben feels better soon, poor boy!
PrairieMom replied: yeah. I must be PMS-ing, because if I could have jumped though the phone and strangled that lady I totally would have. I still might.
On the other hand, I am taking Benjamin in to see the Dr this afternoon. He has had this dumb fever since Monday night, so it is day 3 now. He must have something going on.
Boo&BugsMom replied: UGH! I hate it when people think like they have their heads in their arses.
lovemy2 replied: Why would they not give out a phone number to the public for a pool where they offer swim lessons to the public
PrairieMom replied: I know. Whole thing is just so stupid.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Tara, can you look up the number in the phone book? Is it in there? Maybe the person didnt' know what they were talking about...which seems to happen a lot to us when we have to deal with situations like this.
PrairieMom replied: its not there. Its apparently not public knowledge. i looked it up before trying to find out what the pools hours are. apparently , THATS not public knowledge either.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Wow...great advertising techniques they have there!
TheOaf66 replied: it seems u have a bit of hostility tara
PrairieMom replied: I know. I thought they were pretty stupid for not having online registration for swimming lessons, but little did I know how deep their stupidity ran. We live in a pretty big city, I think its 130, 000, its the biggest ciry in the state, actually, its the biggest city within 3-4 hours no matter what direction you drive, so it is pretty odd that they are so far behind the times.
PrairieMom replied: Yeah, I must have PMS. When I am PMS-ing, everyone I come in contact with looses IQ points.
Kaitlin'smom replied: WTH this is a public pool????? sorry that woudl annoy me as well
Mommy2Isabella replied: Sorry ... that is stupid!
PrairieMom replied: yyeeaaahhhhh....
Boo&BugsMom replied: Do men get PMS? Because people seem to lose IQ points with Troy pretty frequently.
redchief replied: Insist on speaking with the recreation director, not a lackey. If you get nowhere there, pay the mayor's office a visit. Squeaky wheels get the grease. Explain your situation to them and remind them that your taxes (or a portion of your rent if you are a tenant) pay for the pools and the rest of the city's recreation budget, that you understand that extra charges apply for the swimming lessons, but that a city pool within the recreation system should not get to make it's own rules. Those should be central and so should the records of income. That being said, you may not be eligible for refund because your son's spot in the class was guaranteed by your paid fee. I'm certain the city hires instructors off the fees. However, you should not have gotten such a runaround, and I wouldn't have stood for it. Go get 'em Tara!
Danalana replied: This sounds like my OB's office! Sooooo frustrating!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Ha! You're having my day! And I'm PMS'ing too
moped replied: Can a pregnant woman have PMS?
