That's it! We are boycotting all holidays from now - on.

They went to bed at 8.
DH and I hid eggs and put the baskets together at 11:30.
Lauren came out at 12 and picked up eggs all along the way. Then she was so excited that I had a hard time getting her to sleep. How she missed the baskets is beyond me...but YAY!

Then, about half an hour after I got L to sleep, K comes out, sees eggs and the basket and starts staking out her plan for the egg hunt in the morning. tongue.gif
She saw the furberry in her basket and grabbed that then went to bed. She's been up for almost an hour now.

I flat out refuse to have a replay of our 3am Christmas gala.

So what do I do? Dope them on holidays (j/k)? quit participating in all of the holidays that magical things come to visit? lock the kids in their rooms? Wake up at 6 and put everything out?

Why are my kids such awful sleepers???

ughhhh!

mckayleesmom replied: Maybe put them in a closet or something and pull them out right before they get up.

ZandersMama replied: hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: Ugh! That's so frustrating!! My kids caught the Easter Bunny writing out their "happy easter" note this morning - though they were too sleepy to know what was going on and didn't think anything of it. rolleyes.gif I think that maybe waiting until the morning to do it would be the best... but that is so hard. I'm sorry!!

sparkys2boys replied: My boys know they are NOT allowed to get up until at least 6am incase they scare the EB off before he is done hiding eggs and stuff! So far it has worked!

kit_kats_mom replied: My BFF just gave me a great idea. When she was little, her mom told the kids that all of the magic would disappear if they left their rooms before 6am. Then she'd get up at 5am and leave all of the stuff out.

She said they totally fell for it. I may have to pull that one out of the tricks hat next holiday. Even if I'm not a morning person. tongue.gif

Calimama replied:
That's a good idea!

Jamison'smama replied: The night before a big magical morning (Christmas, Easter, Birthday), we have a family sleepover in our bed----that way, I can keep an eye on both of them, no sneaking!

kimberley replied: rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif sorry. that has happened to us a couple of times so we literally stay up til 3am and do it then for Christmas. all others... like easter... doesn't happen til afternoon and the kids are occupied by one parent while the other plants the findings. better luck next year. happy.gif hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif I'm sorry thats funny I hope it gets better, and I think the magic thing is a GREAT idea!!!!

Danalana replied:
laugh.gif I thought you meant the kids!

kit_kats_mom replied:
The kids or the easter stuff? rolling_smile.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Apparently that was going around, because Jade did practically the same thing to me. She got up and shut her bedroom door which I keep open because Jordan is sleeping in there now and still wakes up on ocassion. I got up and opened the door and she promptly freaked out because her room isn't exactly clean and she didn't want the Easter Bunny to see it. So to keep the peace and make sure she didn't wake Jordan up I brought her out here to show her that he had all ready come. Of course there were some oh look Mom I found an egg. We were all cool so I was like okay back to bed. Well on the way there we have to pass the entryway table. On that was a stuffed bunny holding one of the eggs. Jade didn't see the egg so she just pulled it off of there and managed to break the egg he was holding.

I think I am going to adopt the put it out right before they wake up method as well. happy.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I always worry about that, and getting caught. I did not get to put things out till around 3a, had to set an alarm, DH had people over gaming so I had to wait till they were gone. She did wake me up at 5:30a to let me know the EB had been there. I told her it was way to early to get up, and she crawled in bed with me and went back to sleep till about 8:30a thumb.gif

funny thing is I am sure we hid 12 eggs 11 were found, not sure if we have one MIA or I just did not put it out with me 1/2 asleep who knows. I can only guess I did put them all out and one cat played with it and its under a bed or behind the couch or I lost it someplace and it never made it out. wacko.gif since the EB had written in his note there were 12 we got one more filled it and hid it..... laugh.gif I still dunno what happend to that other egg.

Crystalina replied: rolling_smile.gif I thought this thread was titled, "We are boycotting all holiday inns from now on."

I read the entire thread and couldn't figure out what the heck Holiday Inn had to do with anything. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
