Stay safe neighbors - Tornado Warnings

MommyToAshley wrote: There are warnings throughout Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. A tornado touched down south of us not too long ago. There's another tornado-producing storm coming through our county soon, so we will be headed to the basement. I think most of the damage is going to be south of us, so I just wanted to say a prayer for our southern neighbors ...STAY SAFE. hug.gif

moped replied: hug.gif hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Stay safe everyone...update us as soon as possible.

luvmykids replied: Lots of prayers for safety and peace hug.gif hug.gif

MoonMama replied: Tons of prayers for everyone's safety. Update us when you can. hug.gif hug.gif

sparkys2boys replied: hug.gif Be safe everyone and let us know how things are when you can.

mom21kid2dogs replied: We went to the basement from 9 to 9:30 when they lifted our warning. Those were some serious lightening storms, eh?

ZandersMama replied: I read tomato warning 3 times before I realized what it actually said rolleyes.gif

take care everyone and stay safe hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: We live in Illinois. We had to spend the night in the basement because of tornado warnings/sirens going off all night long. wacko.gif

We had warnings earlier in the day, so the kids got lots of time in the basement yesterday. rolleyes.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
Oh, how terrible and frightening for you guys. I hope all is ok today and no more warnings hug.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Thanks. hug.gif We had warnings Friday night so the girls had to spend the evening out in the hall at the hospital. We were out of town - they were with my parents. Then we turn around and get warnings yesterday so they spent several hours in the basement at the sitter. Then we have warnings last night and spent the entire night in there. NOW we are expecting more storms today and are still under a tornado watch. wacko.gif I think at this point it's getting tiring more than scary. happy.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
Oh Karen, that's miserable hug.gif hug.gif Do the girls get scared when the sirens go off? I know that I would myself unsure.gif I really hope that the storms pass quickly and you can get some time outta the basement.. stay safe though, girl hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: We had the tornado warnings here on Friday too. It's the season, eh. Glad to know you are safe Karen. hug.gif Cheryl, I wasn't sure how much of it you would get, but glad you all are safe as well. Last night, we had a tornado touch down about 20 minutes south of us. It's still storming out now, and we are under a tornado watch. But, another storm is supposed to come through tonight... uggh. Has anyone heard from LeaAnn, I think she lives in an area that was under the warning as well (unless she lives further south than I thought)?

grapfruit replied:
Where did that touchdown? I've looked at Dayton Daily News website and WHIOTV website and neither said anything about it unsure.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
I haven't checked the news this morning, but last night they were saying that one touched down in the Springboro area. They also said that multiple were sighted in the Mason area -- but two different police agencies had discrpencies. One said several funnel clouds were sighted (which means they are still in the air) and the other said several tornadoes were sighted (which means they would have touched down). By the time I went to bed, they still hadn't confirmed it one way or the other, but the storms were out of this area.

grapfruit replied: I had a customer just tell me near the Oxford area (Eaton) as well...But I can't find anything. Maybe they're still confirming.

coasterqueen replied:
You know, they don't seem to get scared. I think we are all comforted now (this year) that we actually HAVE sirens out in our neck of the woods. When the tornados came through a few years ago in Springfield we didn't get enough warning to get to the basement because we can't hear the sirens from all the way into town. Thankfully where we were they didn't hit, but they did close to us. So late last year they get federal funding to put sirens up in rural areas because that is where tornados are most likely to hit. So oddly enough I was comforted to hear it because then I knew we had time to get to the basement, kwim? They ended up hitting in a small town about 20 miles from us but we only got some straight line winds.
