State law passed in Ohio, pay for state park visit

You have to pay to enter the park... parking is included in admission fee.

mckayleesmom replied: Geesh...they already complain about how much kids watch tv and play video games and now that is what its going to resort to because the parents can't afford for them to play outside.

MommyToAshley replied: The bike trail DH and I ride goes through a state park... I am not going to pay to pass through the park! I wonder what they will do about that?

Kaitlin'smom replied: I saw they were going to do this, and some places were gonna charge per car and some per person, it will be weird but I am not gonna pay per person. So I guess if I am going I will just load up the van and take them all.

guess if they did woudl they put up a toll boothe? I guess at that point I would turn around and go back

5littleladies replied: Wow-I thought all state parks had fees. That sucks that yours didn't and is going to now. I'd be interested to know what you find out about the bike trails. What do they think they are going to do-stick a tool booth along the trail?

I dont visit the state parks that often but when they were talking about it awhile back on the news they were saying that thats the only kind of vacation some people can take. Some people dont have the money to go on vacation so they pack the car, kids and a lunch and go spend the day there. Now they have to pay for it too??

mammag replied: OMG! I didn't know this! That is ridiculous! It's bad enough that they over charge for the zoo here while my sister gets to go to their zoo whenever they want for free. That was one of the last free activities I could do with my kids and daycare kids.

3_call_me_mama replied: Most of our state parks here cost to enter, but not bike through on a trail. Even if you just want to use a boat launch and not a park you have to pay per person, even for kids... it can easily cost $30-$40 per family for an afternoon siwm or walk! Crazy IMO but people pay to do it. That;s why we rarely (maybe once a year) use them and there are a lot of them.... only thing we might do is pay the fee to camp overnight....
