So there isn't any confusion - Yes, we are moving

luvmykids wrote: But not to GA. Long story short, DH and I have gone round and round and up and down and back and forth, and everytime we decide to just do it, we change our minds because we just don't feel like it's secure enough or long term enough. There are lots of little reasons, one of which is the schools in that particular town, another is the distance to the airport/price of flights which means we wouldn't be able to see Nikka (or my parents) very often, etc.

SO, after I came back from TX so excited, DH (very suprisingly) wanted to know what I loved about it. For one thing, the schools are much better. Another, it would be easy to have Nikka come for a long weekend. Another, cost of living is about half of what it is here, even gas was cheaper, food was cheaper, etc. The icing on the cake was that we'd still have some family nearby. So, we figure that although he'll still have to be in GA, we'll cut the distance in half, live better, and if something changes in GA and it does seem more permanent, we'll deal with it then. There has been a lot of crud in the last two years and it just feels like time for a change but we never could really get in the groove with going to GA. TX, at this point, just seems like the right place for us right now.

Sorry that got so long, just thought I'd explain what's going on. DH's grandma is a realtor and wants to have our house on the market no later than a week from this coming Friday, hoping to sell it while everything is still green and before we start getting a few feet of snow tongue.gif Besides that, we're very excited and the sooner we can go, the better smile.gif

ZandersMama replied: congrats i hope it works out for you and the house sells quick

MommyToAshley replied: How exciting! It sounds like the perfect solution.

Good luck, I hope your house sells quickly.

whitting713 replied: I hope that your house sells quickly and your move goes smoothly.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: YAY!!!! If you like the Dallas area you really should come look around San Antonio rolling_smile.gif wink.gif

lisar replied: I am happy for you. Everything seems to be working out. You have such a good dh

Crystalina replied: I hope you have an easy transition. Why are you moving?

Our Lil' Family replied: I'm telling you "TX is the place I'd really love to be" (had to, it came to mind and was so perfect). It is such a great place, I wish we could have moved there. I am positive that you will all love it there.
Now it's time to start planning my next trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danalana replied: Awwww, you'll be a fellow southerner, still smile.gif I don't know how you feel about snow, but you won't be seeing much of it anymore. MAYBE a little, but nothing like you are used to. If you don't like snow, that's a good thing! I wish we got snow...
Anyway, I'm glad you're happy!! And I agree about San Antonio...it's awesome! They have a Sea World, even!

redchief replied: I hope everything goes smoothly for you! Good luck!

stella6979 replied: I wish you guys the best Monica and hope your house sells quickly. Are the kids excited about Texas? I've never been but have heard it's the best place to be!

BAC'sMom replied: The Texas Gulf Coast is nice too Monica biggrin.gif

luvmykids replied:
LMBO, I have had that song stuck in my head for WEEKS rolling_smile.gif Only none of my ex's live there....that I know of laugh.gif

Abbie, DH loves San Antonio, last night he decided we should look around there and Austin too....he doesn't want to be unfair and decide on a place without considering all of them rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

And Jimmie, he nixed your area because he's afraid I'll get put away for stalking. Some big country singer has a house around there and apparantly he doesn't trust me emlaugh.gif

I am actually open to other areas, but I loved so much the area we visited that I'm still pulling for it over the others tongue.gif

luvmykids replied:
Because tongue.gif We just want a change, and GA (where his work is right now) has never felt completely right.

And Dana, I don't think I will miss the snow AT ALL. The thought of NEVER having to break ice for the horses or get a wheelbarrow through a few feet of snow sounds great laugh.gif Kylie is excited too, she says she'll go anywhere it doesn't snow.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Monica, your DH is not allowed to visit Austin or San Antonio and you are to make sure this never happens until you close on a house in this area. rolling_smile.gif

I'm so excited that we may become neighbors soon and my kids are thrilled that we will know someone with horses. laugh.gif Think of how much fun our kids would have together! wub.gif

Keep me posted. wink.gif

luvmykids replied: Oh you guys will definitely be welcome to come ride, anytime!!!! thumb.gif And I'll be happy to have someone who can show me around, after living in smaller towns for so long I don't know whether to jump up and down or cry at all my options for everything rolling_smile.gif

HuskerMom replied: Good luck with your move!

I would totally miss the snow! rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

mammag replied: Good Luck! How exciting!!!!

If I had to choose any other state to live it would be Texas. I've never even been there but everyone I know who has loves it so much.

I'm quite jealous now that I think of it...... wink.gif

youngmomofone replied: I'm in south east Texas (north of Houston) until tomorrow as I move back to Louisiana. we're from here, but dh was stationed in La before he deployed. Texas is a great place to live at biggrin.gif
