Small spaces?

MommyToAshley wrote: Anyone else have a child that likes to play in small spaces? You may have noticed by some of the pics I have posted that we removed the tables out of our living room. This created a little open space between the couch and love seat. Ashley loves to take her toys and go sit in that corner and play.

And, the other day, I was making dinner while she was in the living room playing.... I didn't hear her for a few seconds so I peeked in the living room and didn't see her. So, I checked her fav corner, she wasn't there. I looked down the hall and everythign was gated or closed off. I was starting to panic because I couldn't find her. Then, I found her sitting in a corner behind the dining room table, reading a book.

She has a corner that she will go sit in when she has to go poopy, but she just started playing in corners and small spaces a few weeks ago. Do you find this odd or do other kids do this?

booey2 replied: Yup, Thomas does this too, when we moved the living room around he decided that the couches didn't cut it anymore and sits between the couch and our book shelf to watch tv or play, he also enjoys sitting under the dinning room 300lb oak table just watching the world go by. My only fear is the table falling on him or him banging his head on it as he gets up and he has done this a few times already. sad.gif

chloe&tysmommy replied: yup! Chloe does this also, she'll hide behind my lazy boy chair and play with her toys or read a book. She also loves to hide in her little playhouse a lot....its so funny happy.gif

coasterqueen replied: I haven't seen Kylie do this yet, but that's because she is always running around 24/7. She doesn't sit for a second, lol.

DansMom replied: That's so cute! Daniel doesn't do that (not yet anyway). He's more of a constant wanderer/explorer, never staying put. He likes to drag something (like a shoe) from one room into another room, pick something else up in that room and drag that into a third room, ad infinitum. He doesn't ever sit and look at books on his own LOL!---maybe when he's older.

jen replied:
That is cute!!! He looks like a little explorer!!! wub.gif I can totally see him doing that!!!! I love reading your stories about him and then seeing that cute little face in your avatar!!! He is adorable!!!

MomToMany replied: thumb.gif Yep! Ethan still does this, as well as Hannah. They love hiding behind the recliner (separately sometimes) and read books. Hannah also likes crawling under the computer desk, too.

We must all have a bunch of odd kids if they all do this rolling_smile.gif !

jen replied: Ashely is cute!!! Pretty soon she will be making a little fort to hide in with her mega blocks!!! laugh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin loves going behind out recliner and I always have to out her out from there. Dh has out in a connection for internet long ago when we had ISDN but its not hooked up anymore and she can pull it out of the wall! ohmy.gif She also loves playing under our glass table! rolling_smile.gif

ediep replied: yup, Jason does this all the time!!!! He likes to stand behind our end tables in the family room (there is only a few inches of space there)....I have even found him sitting in my closet rolling_smile.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: thumb.gif I have noticed this with Claudia lately too. She loves to crawl into the space between the couch and the chair and play there. She also loves to sit at the back of the dinning room!

MommyToAshley replied: Awwee, such cute stories. It's good to know that Ashley isn't odd for doing this. Or if she is odd, then she's in good company! smile.gif thumb.gif

kimberley replied: yeah the boys still like to play under the table. James always used to hide in any small space to do his business too rolling_smile.gif
