Shot my first wedding yesterday :O)

I LOVE how this turned out! This was actually the idea of the woman who owns the place where they got married...
My other fave. The weather here was let's say "less than desirable" yesterday -- 5 inches of rain in 24 hours and floods everywhere. We didn't get any outside shots, but the inside ones turned out beautiful...
And lastly -- husband and wife

Kentuckychick replied: OOOHHH... THANK YOU! I love that
I'm still learning all of the digital stuff -- most of these photos were not digital... I'm way more photo savy with my non-digital camera
Kentuckychick replied: LOL!
I would love to -- but I don't think I'm THAT good yet... I was SO nervous just taking these and was relieved when of course every family member there had their digital camera snapping away -- so rest assured anything I missed was caught by someone else. I would love to do this eventually as a side job though... it's so much fun!
Calimama replied: Oh that is COOL.
grapfruit replied: Seriously, we're having such a hard time finding somebody that isn't going to charge $3K They're all saying "We'll be there for 9 hours" blah blah blah. Who the heck needs 9 HOURS of pictures??? That's silly. Why would you want a professional snapping pictures of you and your drunk relatives? I just want pictures like you took. I LOVE them b/c they're not posed, they show life and expression.
*sigh* they're exactally what I want
Oh well, I dont' know what we're going to do, but I suppose we'll get the pictures somehow.
DVFlyer replied: My wife is a wedding photographer. Her minimum charge is $2000. Wedding photographers are some of the most over-paid people in the world according to some surveys. My wife will spend a few hours at the engagement session and then a few hours processing the photos. Then spend 6 hours or so at a wedding/ reception and another few hours processing those photos. Total time about 15 hours. At $2000, that is $133/ hour. That's pretty darn good money.
The other things to factor in are: equipment cost (Camera equipment so far is approximately $10,000, computer cost is approx $2500). Cost for prints... minimal, really.. and gas to get to the event.
So you have to do a few weddings to break even (my wife only shoots about 3 weddings a year) but after that, if your take care of your equipment and don't want to upgrade every year, there is a lot of money to be made.
