A&A'smommy replied: I think its an awesome idea and it should DEFINITELY be done in every state!!!

HuskerMom replied: I wish they did that in every state!

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I also think it should be done in every state
This is one big reason why we don't trick or treat at houses we don't know...its a wacky world we live in.

stella6979 replied: I'd rather all the sickos just be banished from the planet, but this is a step in the right direction and should definitely be done in every state!

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
Yep if they have to roam free growl.gif then this is the best way to keep them in check! We have door to door checks here by the police on Halloween night to make sure they are home with the lights out so as not to entice kids to the door-they can't be out so that they aren't walking neighborhoods or something dry.gif wacko.gif Personally I think a sign on the house/in the yard 365 days a years is a good idea!

stella6979 replied:
Or maybe even tattoos on their foreheads that say "keep away, I'm a child molestor".

BAC'sMom replied:

In Corpus all child molesters houses have a sign in the front yard and they also have to have a bumper sticker on their car. thumb.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
As a parent, I think this is an excellent idea and I am all for this!!!

However, I am just curious... has it caused any other problems as far as inciting violence in general?

My2Beauties replied:
It would be nice to know but I'm wondering if this would cause violence from others. I mean I know many guys who would love the chance to just beat the crap out of a child molestor so is this really a good idea? I'm just playing devil's advocate here I guess. I honestly think that child molestors get off too easy and they should have to spend their life in jail or in a facility where they are monitored 24-7 but because they have to go out in society I wonder how far we can go?

BAC'sMom replied:
As far as I know things have not been to bad. At first it made national headlines and there was contrivercy that it was non constitutional something about their right. rolleyes.gif Whatever! They didn't think about the rights of the children they were abusing now did they. In Texas up until last year student sex offenders were still being educated in the same classroom as other students. But now they go to a alternative school. We had two here that were actually being allowed to suit up in Gold and Green and play football on Friday night's. The media go a hold of that info and had a field day. On the Texas DPS Sex Offender Website they also post where the offenders work. That has changed my mind of who I do business with let me tell you.

I think they all need to be moved to an island somewhere. But then again I also think that Texas needs to put a express lane on Death Row too. biggrin.gif

My2Beauties replied:
I understand I think all of their rights should be taken away as well (in prison that is). I just wonder if it could cause scenes.

As far as death row...well that's a whole 'nother topic.

AlexsPajamaMama replied:

"The killings of two convicted child molesters in Maine prompted authorities to briefly remove the state's online sex-offender registry and revived concerns that such websites may encourage vigilante-style justice."

jem0622 replied: So glad I live in Maryland! Woot!

holley79 replied: I think it's a good idea to an extent. Working for the Sheriff's Office and my mom is the one who registers all the SO's so I see both sides of it. Those who molested children, were involved in child porn ect then yes they need signs. Those that were Romeo/ Juliet I think need to be reclassed. You all know how I feel about this for the most part. I make no excuses but there are plenty of instances where these guys/ girls should not be classed with sex offenders. I think there should be harsher penalties for SO's. I am a survivor of long term molestation so no I feel no sympathy for them but I do for those who should not be in the class due to circumstances.
