Riddex Pro - getting rid of mice

cameragirl21 replied: i have never had a mouse problem but then again, i have a cat. i don't know anything about riddex pro but i will say that there are humane traps that you can get where the mouse walks right into them and you can just let it out somewhere safely without touching it or anything. idk what riddex pro is but if it's that sticky paper where they walk onto it and can't move i can tell you that everyone who's tried whom i know of said they hated it b/c the mouse literally has a heart attack right before your eyes.
stella6979 replied: Well the RiddexPro is something you plug in and it's supposed to chase the mice away. My Dad used to use the sticky traps and I hated those things. I don't want to kill them, I just want them gone!!
cameragirl21 replied: oh, that's a good idea, but it will be on some sort of frequency and it could upset other animals if you have pets, like hamsters, guinea pigs or quite possibly, birds. glad you are using a humane method as i am an animal lover to the max. btw, best trap out there is to get a cat, mine doesn't catch mice b/c i don't have any and i wouldn't let her if she tried...i'd take them from her and not let her kill them but once you get a cat the mice instintively stay away....
stella6979 replied: Well since I'm deathly allergic to everything, we have no pets. LOL!
holley79 replied: I have heard they really work. Give it a shot. Hope it works.
cameragirl21 replied: i see, yeah, it sucks to be allergic. i am technically very allergic to cats but i've found that owning one has made that allergy go away and now she doesn't make me sneeze or anything and neither does any other cat anymore. but if you don't have small animals as pets then that shouldn't be a problem, plug it in and see what happens, it's definitely safe for children and larger animals from what i've heard of that stuff. i will tell you this, though--i've had one of those for insects for years and tbh, i see no difference having it, i still get the occasional cockroach, spider, even bumblebees.... course mine is a cheap one so that may be the reason....
stella6979 replied: That's what I keep reading. Ok thanks, I think I will. They're only $20 so if they end up not working, I won't be out too much.
cameragirl21 replied: idk where you plan on getting it but if you get it at Target or Walmart, they'll take it back if it doesn't work and you won't lose any money at all.
stella6979 replied: Oh, do they sell them in stores? I checked on line but couldn't find them at Target or Walmart. I was going to order them from some online store and they offer a 30 day money back guarantee as well. However, if they sell them in stores, I'd much rather get them ASAP.
cameragirl21 replied: tbh idk if they sell them in stores but i have seen mouse control products at Target before. what you can do is try to google the product and see what comes up...if any stores sell it you'll see right away and then you'll know. if they offer a 30 day guarantee online then that's good too b/c you'll know within 30 days if it's working or not. i can see why you'd rather buy it at a store though, who needs the hassle of the whole online thing.
gr33n3y3z replied: they only way I know to get them if you have them is a not so nice trap with peanut butter
I hear those sonice things do work but I have a small animal in the house and would never take a chance with it.
You could contact the company and ask them what other animals it will effect as far are house pets go. Let us know
stella6979 replied: From what I've read they only recommend not using them if you have hampsters or gerbles. Any other pets would not be effected. We don't have any pets, so I think I'm going to give them a go.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I'll tell you a little trick we learned about getting mice. Jennifer (cameragirl)...you may not want to read this because it's not very humane and I know how you are about animals. I am too, but when it comes to mice living in or around my house that may carry rabies...blah!
Fill up a bucket of water about half way, sprinkle a bunch of sunflower seeds in it. Place it near something that the mice can get to the top of the bucket on, like next to the porch or something, or a chair. The mice jump in the bucket for the sunflower seeds and they can't get out. If you get there in enough time you can set them free somewhere else. If you don't, they drown. We have caught numerous mice this way that were around our house.
If you want a more humane way of doing things, you can always get live mouse traps if need be. If you don't care, then I highly suggest the above...it really works. Sad, but it works.
huggybugboy replied: ok, are those the things you plug into the wall??
Because, no, they do not work. at least not for me. I have two plugged in in my kitchen and I can hear the fricking things scurrying under my dish washer right now. They are driving me nuts!!!!!!!!
If my husband wasn't allergic, I would have a cat and solve the problem in a hurry.
