Quick Update On Spencer

DH and Spencer went to Toronto last week for his Clinic Visit at Sick Kids and we were given the okay for him to go back to School. Which was sooner than the last Transplant. There of course is a problem with this, when DH called the School the next day he found out that there was an outbreak of Chicken Pox, so no school for Spencer. Now we are worried that Claudia will get the Chicken Pox from school and this could be life threatening for Spencer. He would need to go to the Hospital ASAP and have a vacination done to prevent him from getting them. It's quite scary. Spencer is eating, but not as much as he should. He has lost 1 kilogram in about a week, the doctor isn't concerned yet, but is just encouraging us to stock up with foods that he likes. The Bone Marrow Transplant Team are slowly weaning Spencer off of the cyclosporin, it's an anit-rejection medication. Spencer is relieved because he really is getting tired of taking pills. Tuesday he had another vaccination against RSV, since there were still reported cases of this in Thunder Bay. He was a little trooper and took it really well.

Spencer has also experienced his first taste to fast food since the transplant, apparently DH took him to the Eatons Centre and bought him McDonalds for lunch. Something that I wasn't supposed to find out, but Spencer let it slip!

Well that's all for now! Maybe this summer we can finally teach him how to ride his bike, play basketball in the park, go to his Grandparents Camp (Cottage) and lead a normal, healthy life as a child should!
