Pet Peeves... - what are yours?

stella6979 wrote: On my way into work this morning I realized just how much I can't stand people who don't thank you for letting them out of a parking lot or whatever. I consider myself a pretty courteous driver and I don't think it takes too much effort to lift your hand up and wave to thank someone. I also can't stand it when people are at registers trying to pay for something and they're talking on their cell phones. I deal with some walk-in customers and it irritates the crap out of me when they ask me questions, and yet they're on their phones not listening to anything I'm saying in response to their flippin questions.
So now I'm just curious....what are your pet peeves?

grapfruit replied: I HATE HATE HATE it when people get out of the shower w/o wiping their feet first (so it makes the rug wet) growl.gif . I always end up going in the bathroom w/my socked feet and my socks get soaked. My bf has admitted that he only wipes his feet when he knows that the rug won't have enough time to dry before I go into the bathroom. laugh.gif LoL! That's ok, as long as I don't have to step on a wet rug!

I have way more, but I'll spare you the details happy.gif . That's probably one of the biggest things that irrates me. smile.gif

Danalana replied: People who don't LISTEN
People who expect to get things for nothing
people who stop while merging
People who don't LISTEN (I know I said that twice, but it's a biggie)
Ooooooh, I absolutely can't stand for someone to yell at their kids...I mean, other than normal disciplining...when you know it's just being mean and that they probably normally do

lisar replied: Well my biggest thing is when the toilet paper runs out CHANGE OUT!!!! Ofcourse I always end up changing it. That drives me insane. I dont think my dh even knows how to change it.
Also dont leave the empty tea picture in the fridge when you fill your glass and its empty put it on the counter or in the sink.
And I hate getting behind a driver that wants to go 20mph down a road where the speed limit is 55mph. That drives me insanse.

Just for the record, if anyone lets me out like you did I always wave and say thanks.

hopefulmomtobe replied: Biggest pet peeve is when my husband (or anyone else for that matter) leaves cabinet doors open. People at my office do it too. UGH, it is SOO annoying. If you open it, freaking close it.

grapfruit replied:
oOo! I had a girl (well woman) helping me out when I first opened my office that would do this ALL THE TIME!!!!!! She'd open the closet door and put her coat away and then go sit down and leave it WIDE open. The worst part was that it is right across from where the clients sit. So they're sitting there looking in the closet at her coat!!!!! I would go over and close it while she was sitting there. It took her almost a month to get it through her head that I want the closet door SHUT. growl.gif

The other lovely thing she did was park RIGHT out side the door (main st parking) instead of in the parking lot across the street. NUMEROUS times clients had to park around the corner b/c there was no parking, and she was RIGHT OUTSIDE!! I actually had to say something to her about this like 5 times before she got it.

And then when I went on vacation, and had a staff person, she came to help her out (b/c she just started) and what'd she do. PARKED OUT FRONT!!! And left the closet door open. Some people....

sunrosejenn replied: people who chew with there mouth open growl.gif

Crystalina replied: My biggest pet peeve is the fact that people can put out dumb little Nascar flags or seasonal flags (Yay Spring is here! dry.gif ) but they do not have the American flag out. Or if it is out it is nasty looking. I'm not saying that everyone should have the flag out. If you choose not to fly it fine but it's pretty amazing how after the Twin Towers fell you couldn't get your hands on a flag. Everyone had one. I think most did it because their neighbors were showing patriotism and so of course since we just had a major attack on our country they had to "keep up with the Jones'. People have forgotten. I would like to know their excuse because an American flag is so much cheaper then a decorative flag.

And people that keep a tattered, ratty looking flag flying. I've seen businesses that even do this. Take the dang thing down and replace it.mad.gif

Sorry for being such a bummer. blush.gif You asked. emlaugh.gif

lovemy2 replied: Ha, I am sure I would overload the system if I posted THAT list rolling_smile.gif

luvbug00 replied: pet peeves

I hate it when Lars (or anyone for that matter) doesn't rinse the dishes and they go in the wash and have crusties and I have to rewash them! growl.gif

annoying sounds

the phrase "good times"

people who doesn't pick up after their dogs when they poo

sparkys2boys replied: TOAST freakin CRUMBS!!!!!!!!! I hate hate hate when DH makes toast and doesnt wipe up the counter.. grrrrrrrrr there is nothing worse then waking up and comming down bare feet to make coffee and walking on toast crumbs that ended up on the floor!!!!! wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif

hoosier momma replied: Lack of manners including chewing with your mouth open, not holding doors open, please and thank you and many others.

Loud, thumping music in a car, especially when people want to leave it playing in the parking lot of gas stations and other places.

People who are fake or two-faced.

I could go on and on.

Calimama replied:

1. Not covering your mouth when you sneeze.
2. Not saying excuse me.
3. When people type using caps or every other word caps.. ugh.

moped replied: Way to many to list.................

My2Beauties replied: OK are you guys ready:

1. People who let their kids cough all over the place without reminding them to cover their mouth. If someone comes over my house and their kids have a cold, that's one thing, but to let the kid just cough with their mouth wide open and not even REMIND them to please cover their mouth.....eeeew stop letting them spread their sick germs everywhere!!!

2. Guys who wear their pants below thier butts and you can see their underwear rolleyes.gif

3. People who are lazy and expect other people to pay their way through life

4. OK this might sound horrible, but really old drivers.....they do like 20 mph on the expressway and this is so dangerous, they don't know how to merge into oncoming traffic, I can't tell you how many times I've almost gotten into a traffic accident because of an elderly person driving that doesn't have any business having their license anymore blush.gif

5. When fast food restaurants mess up my entire order....drives me insane wacko.gif

6. At the moment, contractions laugh.gif

7. When I ask Hanna to do something 10 million times and she ignores me or doesn't do it and DH steps in and tells her once and she jumps right on it...guess I'm a pushover blush.gif

8. Right now....maternity clothes laugh.gif

9. People who try to debate something and have no clue what they are talking about

10. When someone talks non-stop for eternity and you're trying to get out of the conversation and away from that person

There are lots more...can you guys tell I'm being anal at the moment....gosh I'm so pregnant! blush.gif

Cece00 replied: oh, wow, that would be such a long list...let me think of a few off the top of my head

people who dont cover their mouth/nose when they sneeze or cough

people who are lazy, or people who depend on others or the govt to support them when they could just as easily go and work & support themselves

people who act like thugs rolleyes.gif

people who dont pick up after themselves

people who drive like idiots, or really really slow or fast

people who let their animals crap in your yard mad.gif

people who park in your yard when they are going to someone else's house (like your neighbors house)

parents who take really crappy care of their kids...

see, i have a long list, there are many more...i think that is enough for now, though.

Danalana replied: I have more tongue.gif

I hate it when somebody waltzes back into your life after not wanting anything to do with you your whole life, and then expecting everything to be fine and dandy.

People who won't apologize, or even admit when they are wrong.

People who make commitments and then go back on them.

Ooooooooh, and I really hate it when people come into the vison center and feel the need to make all kinds of noises to alert me that they're there. It's not like I won't see them. When I go places, I just stand there until I am seen, and it has never failed me.

Danalana replied: I forgot one of the biggest ones! I hate it when someone checks out at a store...the clerk thanks them, and then they just walk out like they don't know how to say "thank you". Seriously, that one drives me nuts.

My3LilMonkeys replied:
Ooooh that is a big one for me!! I am constantly finding empty boxes and containers in my cupboards and freezer.....drives me CRAZY!!

C&K*s Mommie replied: -Inconsiderate people (in many areas of day to day living)
-Sllllllooooooowwwww people. I am not referring to anyone who is mentally challenged, but anyone who is slow to make a simple decision that for most people can take a split second to make. My SIL is a prime example of this. Ask her a question, wait 4-5 minutes then you can get an answer. Drives me insane.
- dito.gif rolleyes.gif

luvmykids replied: All of my pet peeves boil down to people who are rude and/or selfish. Little things like not holding a door open or letting someone in traffic, big things like being late or not keeping a committment. I'm busy too but if I say I'll be there at noon, I'm there at noon.

zdk753 replied: My biggest is people who can't get off of their cell phones for nothing. Esp in the bathroom. If I can hear them talk I am sure they can hear me pee. When I was working cust. service I would have people come up to me & the whole time be talking on their phone. You came to me not the other way around. Why should I have to wait for you to finish your conversation? I actually had people who would shhh me or tell me to wait. I got to the point that if you were on your phone I would walk away from you & help the nxt person.

Also rude people who can't hold a door open for you when you are right there, say excuse me or thank you.

People who pull out in front of you & than want to go 20 miles under the speed limit.

BabyOwen427 replied: This is the first that comes to mind because I was driving today and noticed it but...

I hate it when people signal to merge onto the highway and don't turn off their signal and drive for like 5 miles before turning it off. I mean, I am glad they are using their signals but please turn it off when your done with it. Today I was driving behind someone waiting for them to change lanes because I was trying to be nice and let them go but I ended up getting frustrated and passing them growl.gif

Also, when people come over or invite me to their house and fail to mention that their kids are sick so I can decide if I want my kid to be exposed to it.

Ohh sooo many more... some other time...

redplaydoh replied: When people do not spell my name right, ESPECIALLY after they've known me, worked with me, or have had business dealings with me. It makes me so mad that they think they can make up their own version of how to spell my name and just be ok with it. Like I'm going to go, Gee... I like how YOU spell my name better than my mother did on my birth certificate let me run right out and change it. growl.gif

When I was pregnant I HATED HATED HATED when total strangers (and even a few friends) just thought they could manhandle my belly. I hated my tummy being touched and rubbed without even asking me first.

This is an outdated one for me now. Back when I used bar soap in the shower/bath (now I use shower gel for this very reason) I thought it was disgusting when I'd grab the soap bar and there would be a pubic hair embedded on the soap. It made me realize one day that my mom always taught us to start our bath with washing our face and end the bath with washing our private area. It dawned on me one day that I was putting the soap that had last touched the nether regions of my mother onto my face. puke.gif

stella6979 replied:
Ohhhhh, punctuality...that's another big one. Like you, I'm always on time, unless by chance there's an emergency or something like that. DH's Mom is late for everything and it bugs me so much. I've actually started giving her the wrong start times for things so that maybe, just maybe, she'll show up on time. dry.gif
Also, I can't stand when people don't have their kids buckled up in the car. I see it A LOT around here and it drives me crazy. I never knew you could call the cops when you see that, but since finding out you can, I never hesitate to do so.

Danalana replied: I hate it when people spell things completely different in order to be "cool".
For instance, a concenience store named "kwik stop" dry.gif I don't know why, but things like that get on my nerves.

Miranda1127 replied: double negative. its not nothing. ugggh i hate that 2 neg = a pos. duhhh

HuskerMom replied:
When I don't have Keith in the car I keep my music loud. I'm sure everyone around me loves it. jk laugh.gif

I hate slow drivers.
I hate it when people cut me off.
I hate it when people park in front of walmart to let someone out by the door and hold up traffic.
I hate when people call me ma'am (sp) especially people younger than me.
I hate when people pronounce my name Johnny. I don't even correct them anymore I just ignore them.
I hate people who call mcdonalds mickeyd's. I don't know why, it just drives me nuts.
I could probably list a ton of other things but my list is getting kinda long and I hate it when I complain this much. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

HuskerMom replied: Oh yeah and I hate clowns. laugh.gif
