Peanut butter on pancakes - Ever tried it?
luvmykids wrote: Yesterday I went out for breakfast and the waitress asked if I wanted peanut butter on the side She was so enthusiastic about it, I had to give it a try and WOW, was it good! I know peanut butter and syrup sound like a bizarre combo but I don't know if I'll ever eat pancakes without it again!
momofone replied: That does sound good to me i also like chocolate chips in mine.
lovemy2 replied: Is there really anything peanut butter WOULDN"T taste good on? I can eat it by the spoonful - so can Olivia - my Dad used to also
PrairieMom replied: I give Ben peanut butter on his waffles all the time, he also likes some bananas sliced on top with it. I have had waffles with HONEY peanut butter and bananas, I also like bananas rolled up in a flour tortilla with honey drizzled over. But only when I am PG or BF, other wise I DETEST peanut butter. can't stand the stuff.
TheOaf66 replied: I will pretty much have PB on anything, I love peanut butter.
I know Jennie has told you all before but I used to love and still from time to time enjoy a Peanut Butter and Mayonase sandwich or 2
My2Beauties replied: Wow I would have never thought about this combo but I might have to try it, I like PB
CantWait replied: Ummmmm sounds good actually.
DillsMommy replied: I've had PB with syrup on waffles before. Good Stuff!
jcc64 replied: If I woke up and ate that, I think I'd just want to get right back into bed, bloated, with a sugar crash.
msoulz replied: I'm with y'all who love peanut butter - haven't tried it on pancakes but I am sure I would love it!!
Sadly, we are holding off on our peanut butter until the salmonella thing is totally resolved.
stella6979 replied: Same here.
A&A'smommy replied: my husband mixes his syrup and peanut butter together for his waffles and pancakes he has done is his whole life and Alyssa loves it... it grosses me out!!
lisar replied: I always thought that was normal and always asked my mom how come they didnt have p-nut butter. I was raised that way
DVFlyer replied: I've had peanut butter on my waffles and it's great!
Danalana replied: LOVE IT! Know what else I like on pancakes? Mustard! Just mustard...not mustard with syrup OH...another thing we used to do. You make 2 pancakes...put butter on each layer, as well as fresh sliced tomatoes. Add some salt (and pepper, if you like it), and VOILA! YUUUUMM!!!
PrairieMom replied: your a freak. Straight up. That's just wrong.
CantWait replied: You ARE pulling our leg, right????
Our Lil' Family replied: I do this almost every time. Pancakes have 0 protein so I'm starving again after 2 hours, with peanut butter I at least get some protein and staying power! DH almost never eats PB&J, it's always PB&Syrup sandwiches for him.
Danalana replied: No way! It's no different than having a mustard biscuit or a buttered tomato biscuit. *licks lips*
CantWait replied:
Now I'm not judging and I know we're all entitled to our own likes and dislikes, but...
Danalana replied: Don't knock it if you ain't tried it!!
PrairieMom replied: you are not helping your case... I implore you, please don't eat that. its just wrong.
Danalana replied: I think Tara might have been judging when she called me a freak
CantWait replied:
Danalana replied: Tara, I promise you it's good! One thing I really know about is food I have the hips and thighs to prove it! You really should expand your food horizons.
PrairieMom replied: Sorry. I apologize. It was wrong of me to judge you.
is this better?
In general I find the eating of mustard pancakes is freak-ish.
( don't want to hurt feelings )
Danalana replied: Oh yes....MUCH better! Still, you haven't tried it. Do you like mustard?
PrairieMom replied: yes. Actually I like all kinds, normal, dijon, fancy schmancy kinds, it just never occurred to me to eat it on a pancake.
Is that a regional thing?
And you want to talk about expanding horizons, have you ever tried lutefisk? its Norwegian, and its basically Cod soaked in Lye until it turns into fish jello. Its a holiday treat.
Danalana replied: LOL! i would be willing to try it if you would be willing to try the mustard pancakes! Keep in mind that pancakes are basically just bread...not really sweet on their own. The mustard goes really nicely Oh, but I can't try the fish thing until after the baby comes I have a weak stomach at times right now.
lovemy2 replied: That sounds like it would eat you from the inside out
Danalana replied: You gotta admit...fish jello sounds more unappetizing than mustard on pancakes!
Calimama replied: I don't like peanut butter, but I do see how the two would go well together!
Danalana replied: But what about mustard???
austins mom replied: Ditto here. Ofcourse.
