PC Get together - where and when
Kaitlin'smom wrote: Disney is a great Idea, however it seems like there are so many that cant come I was wondering if there was a different place we could met, maybe a little less expensivie and still fun? any one have ideas?
I loved OgleBay and its a great place to take familys tons to do and not that expensive they have a big house to rent or challets that many of us colud go in on.
Just another thought.
C&K*s Mommie replied: what is Oglebay??
ETA: I am all for anything, (well besides DW) but I will try to think of some places too that are fairly centrally located for easy access, too.
Let's see if we can come up with a good number and then have a vote for the best.
C&K*s Mommie replied: What if we thought of a particular state to go on? And then research could be done for ideas for get togethers in that state. Like I live in Fl, but our Canadian members are sooo far away, so that is not easy for them to make that long trip. But a centrally located state may work. KWIM?
Kaitlin'smom replied: Its a resort, here is the link
Oglebay
they have tons of things, swimming, golf, horeback riding, a zoo, minutaure golf, musemus, shops..ect take a look at it.
C&K*s Mommie replied: That is a gorgeous place! The rates are not bad at all. Thanks for the recco, a good place to add to the list of possiblities, IMHO.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: I would love to meet. This is next year right. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with all the posts lately.
Kaitlin'smom replied: yes next year. We need some coordinators to take the lead in stetting up where and when. It really needs to be started now, in order for it to happen.
If you all dont mind I can kinda start with polls and such, I would need help at some point. Unless some one else wants the rains
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: The best thing to proabablly do is see who would most likely be able to come and see where they live and try to pick a point the is the most equal for everyone to get too. JMO though.
Kaitlin'smom replied: well I guess I can start and see who whants to go and have them list when in 07 is beat for them and ideas of places they might want to go
C&K*s Mommie replied:
~~I am in for going anytime in the fall or winter of '07 (I may have to back out, depending on if I get a job after graduation)
~~I live in Fl, so the best possibility for me is anywhere in the south. GA, The Carolinas, FL, TN, AK, TX.
~~However, I am open to getting with anyone in states nearby to those listed above. I have not travelled much, so I am unfamiliar with many states and their locations.
~~I will look up a few things and post my
NEWMOM05 replied: I'm not sure the goodtime yet for me. Depending on where you choose and how far from Idaho will be the deciding factor and plane tickets. We're moving there in a few months. DW sounds nice, but so does a beach. Can we bring our DH with us? Let me know what is decided and I'll let you know.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I would also be willing to be a helper, to help you coordinate Di. I am on the comp most of the day for this or that, so I will be able to search things.
3_call_me_mama replied: As I said in teh other post. I'm more than glad to help plan and organize, but i can't coordinate cause I'm just not that organized. I'm up for whatever, we liek to travel, Disney is great as we go every other year anyway but we're gaem for whatever. Fall works better cause winter snow often holds up airtraffic up north
I love that place you posted Di!
EvesMom replied: How about Williamsburg VA? There is colonial williamsburg, and Busch Gardens.
Crystalina replied: Is this Oglebey in West Va. I live right next to it.
3xsthefun replied: Yes, it is in Wheeling, WV.
My2Beauties replied: Kentucky is pretty centrally located so most states are fine with me unless we're talking out west like CA or NV, but I'd be willing to travel to Vegas All joking aside, I think a centrally located place for all those that believe they can make it would be a good idea. We could also go to Sandusky, OH to that really nice theme park up there, crap what's it called, the big one that has 4 of the top 10 rollercoasters there. It's right on the beach of one of the Great Lakes and I've heard it's a barrel of fun and they have 2 and 3 days passes that are fairly inexpensive as well, Brian and I were wanting to go there next year anyways. Oh yeah Cedar Point, that's the name of it! I love Rollercoasters.
ions_momma replied: What about Holiday World in Indiana? We go there about every year and it is great! They have a waterpark along with other rides, and many games that the kids could play. Even a pool for the little ones! And there are free water and soft drinks all throughout the park, so nobody would have to spend any money on drinks. And it is a fairly cheap place, with alot to do. And there are trollys (sp?) that will drive you from your car to the main entrance. I dont know how you would feel about it, but its a thought!
Here's a link to their site http://www.holidayworld.com/
ETA: 1 day tickets are only $32.95 and two day tickets are $51.95! Children under 54" are $26.95 for one day, and $46.95 for two days.
My2Beauties replied: Oh yeah Holiday World is a lot of fun, that is only an hour from me.
Kaitlin'smom replied: okay good another suggestion.
once I find/get more I will post a poll as to where you want to try and arrange a gathering.
