Oh the stress
mckayleesmom wrote: I just called a girl for our cleaning team and they start out at 300 bucks....Yousers.....but I heard that is the going rate for our housing area. We have basements...so its more $$'s.
luvmykids replied: Yikes! Does that include every little teeny tiny detail, like cobwebs and carpet cleaning, baseboards, etc? If so I guess it's pretty average but it it's just a dust and vacuum, ouch!
Cece00 replied: For $300 my house would be SPOTLESS and I mean under my beds, every nook and cranny...thats a pretty high amt for a cleaning lady.
C&K*s Mommie replied: like you said..... YOWZA! I hope that includes alot of cleaning for that amount of
mckayleesmom replied: Yes....they do everything.....and After we leave...they are responsible for meeting the inspection standards...not us. We don't even pay them directly. We drop a money order off at the housing office. For everyday that they fail to meet the standards, they deduct my husbands daily pay from their check. But we are free and clear. I am going to clean before she comes so its not that bad and hopefully it will only be 300 dollars....we have only been here a year. They strip and rewax the kitchen floors too.....one of the main reasons I didn't want to clean ourselves.... . I just have to make sure that all the miniblinds are nice (or take them an exchange them at the self help), make sure the house has all the parts it came with, bathtub plugs....etc. If they don't have the parts I need...they have to sign a waiver for them for me to give to the inspector.
mckayleesmom replied: $300 dollars is actually cheap....You should see how picky they are here. They are actually harder on you if you clean yourself and you end up getting fined more. Almost everyone hires a team for their move out cleaning. Alot of people refuse to do our housing area because its 3 floors.
C&K*s Mommie replied: well for $300 and they are responsible for the inspection, then it sounds more reasonable. If they (the inspectors) are anything like my BIL's inspectors who pulled out the white gloves, than $300 is a bargain.
mammag replied: I definately think it's worth the money. My sister just moved (today actually) and she was cleaning for a week. It sounded awful..... and then she got an inspector who just quickly walked through..... she really wanted them to notice her hard work.
mckayleesmom replied: Seriously it is.....We had to go to a pre inspection meeting...where they give you a list of stuff you have to do. You have to take your oven apart, take your stove apart, vaccume the back of your oven, strip and wax the floors, clean and patch screens, wash your cielings ,, the list was like 10 pages long in SMALL print. It was rediculous.
mckayleesmom replied: She is brave for cleaning herself....but all posts and bases have different standards based on who they are housed by......Ours is harsh....Our neighbors down the road had to come back 3 times to fix things.
TheOaf66 replied: wow that is pretty pricey for cleaning...i am in the wrong bus
mckayleesmom replied: Ya....Im thinking I might switch too...
A&A'smommy replied: GOODNESS!!! thats crazy!!
luvbug00 replied: geeze!
AlexsPajamaMama replied: That sounds like way too much work to try to do yourselves! I'd pay the money if the inspection was that harsh too!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: with the list you descibed $300 would be well worth it.
b&bsmom replied: I agree sounds like it is a good deal!!
redchief replied: Considering you're off the hook for the housing inspectors, I'd say that $300.00 is reasonable. I'd gladly pay it. Of course, I hate cleaning too so my opinion is skewed by that.
KingMom replied: $300 sounded like ALOT until you listed the things they take care of including responsibility for the inspection. I'd do it in a heartbeat!
~~*Missi*~~ replied: wow when my mom had a cleaner it was 15/hr and it was spotless she came once a week. ... the first time was like 6 hours.. then everytime after that was maybe 2 hours.... WOW 300$ i would come and do your house for 1/2 that... thats NUTS....
