Oh Goodness...

MyLuvBugs wrote: Ok, the nausea has set in....UGH puke.gif 6 weeks of indigestion, and now probably another 6 of vomitting....Who invented pregnancy!?!?!? Why can't we just lay eggs like chickens? rolleyes.gif

luvmykids replied: My sympathies! Ginger snaps and peppermint gum helped me a lot. Good luck! cool.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: hug.gif Bummer. That's definitely a part of pregnancy I'm not looking forward to for next time. I hope it's not too bad for you. Eating citrus-y fruits helped me a lot. hug.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: eating anything right now is just not a good idea. UGH. Actually moving around is bad too. Sitting and laying down are good, but I can't go 6 weeks doing that.

moped replied: LOLOL - that would be much easier

Sorry about the morning sickness - I have soo been there - for 9 months actually!

coasterqueen replied: hug.gif I had it bad with Megan and NOTHING seemed to help.

Hope it goes away soon. thumb.gif

5littleladies replied: hug.gif Sorry! I hope it doesn't last long. hug.gif

scattytart replied: oh you poor thing i hope it doesn't last long, i never experienced morning sickness so there is'nt much i can think of to help you, I think my freind had it really bad she was having twins and she lost a lot of weight in the first month untill her docter gave her a few hints to help the sickness ill have a chat with her and see if she remembers what he told her.

scattytart replied: sorry this is going to be long rolleyes.gif and this is only the things she can remember she has got a list that her doctor gave her she going to look for it ill keep you posted well here goes. biggrin.gif

1.Sip on a glass of carbonated water. The fizziness of the water often helps relieve morning sickness. Some fresh lemon squeezed into the water is very helpful for alleviating morning sickness.

2.Ease into the morning gently. Nibble on a soda cracker or dry toast before you get out of bed. Take your time getting up. Avoid sudden movements.

3. Don't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. Drinking and smoking can aggravate your condition. If you smoke or drink, now is the time to stop.

4. Don't fill up, but don't go hungry. Having your stomach completely empty or too full will aggravate nausea. Eat small meals frequently. Eat plain, dry, and starchy food. Carry small packs of crackers or other "safe snacks" so you're not caught unprepared if you start to feel hungry, and so you don't indulge in something you find makes you sick.Stay hydrated. Fluids can make you feel full, but it's important to stay hydrated during this time. Don't drink fluids with meals, as that will make you feel fuller. Instead, drink moderate quantities of light beverages such as water, sparkling water, diluted juice, or herbal tea between meals.

5.Take your prenatal vitamin. You'll need to ensure that you're replacing the nutrients you may be losing from vomiting. If the vitamin makes you feel sick, try eating a cracker when you take it.

6.Avoid strong sensory stimulation. Heavy smells, spicy food, and lots of movement can make you feel worse or bring on feelings of nausea. Keep your windows open if possible when cooking, or use an exhaust fan to minimize odors. Enlist the help of a family member for tasks like chopping onions or handling meat if it makes you queasy. Lay off fried foods. Grease and the smell of frying food can also trigger nausea

7.suck on ice

8.Acupressure wrist bands or acupuncture may help. You can find these bands in drug, health food, and travel stores. If considering acupunture An increasing number of pregnant women are turning to herbal remedies to battle morning sickness. Herbs like chamomile, peppermint, garlic, aloe, echinacea, pumpkin seed, ginseng and raspberry leaf are sometimes used to alleviate the symptoms of morning sickness. Ginger root is another natural remedy becoming increasingly popular. Red raspberry leaves have been found safe to use during pregnancy, as has chamomile, which can also help with gas, bloating and indigestion. While these herbs have been shown to reduce nausea during pregnancy in some women, they must be used with caution.

MyLuvBugs replied: WOW. That's quite a list you got there. smile.gif lol Unfortunately, I know all that junk, but when you have a 1 year old avoiding sudden movements and starting my morning slowly is impossible. I am drinking LOTS of water b/c I'm always thirsty, and I'm trying not to let my tummy get empty. but the problem I'm having the last 48 hours....nothing looks good to eat. (Except Roast beef, but do you think I can find that anywhere in this house... of course not. lol )

It's ok though. I just keep saying "This means the baby is healthy. This means the baby is healthy" over and over again to myself. wink.gif But everytime I run to the bathroom, I get envious of chickens. laugh.gif I can sit on an egg all day and keep it warm, but I'm not big on vomit. laugh.gif

moped replied:

Jessi A.K.A Halo

My3LilMonkeys replied: emlaugh.gif I can't imaging sitting on an egg for nine months straight - but giving birth sure would be easier too! And no weight gain required - this is looking better and better! rolling_smile.gif

I hope your MS gets easier soon.

TeagansMom609 replied: Sorry your not feeling well! I know how bad morning sickness can be. Are you actually getting sick or just having nausea? If its unbearable ask your OB to prescribe you Zofran. Thats what I ended up having to do. As much as I dont like taking medicine, pregnant or not, it was the only thing that was going to get me out of bed and to work everyday. I would have ended up in the hospital if I didnt take that. Sometimes you have the weigh out the pros and cons. dry.gif I wish crackers, ginger, peppermint etc., worked for me but it didnt. dry.gif

Good luck and I hope it doesn't last too long!
