Nursery Ideas
PrairieMom wrote: Ok ladies. Here is the bedding that I bought for Baby girl's new room. I have already decided to paint the bottom of the walls in solid light pink to match the pink stripe, and the top of the walls I am going to do in wide pink and white stripes, probably like 12 inches wide. The problem is what to do in the middle. I can't find wall paper boarder that matches, so I am thinking about making a thin white stripe (about 6 inches wide) and stamping a floral boarder to match the one on the fabric. Is this making any sense? Anyone know where I can find large foam stamps with flowers that look similar to the fabric?
PrairieMom replied: I'm sorry, I accidentally posted this, I wanted to get a smaller Pic, but now it won't let me edit it to delete the photo out.
mckayleesmom replied: Maybe you can stensil some flowers.....not a whole lot, but like every 6 inches a flower.....that way its simple and pretty and doesn't look too overwhelming on the walls. BTW...Im basing this on the picture Im making in my head...lol
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: How about hanging a white chair-rail? That is what we did in Logan's room. I think it looks classy and you don't want to over do things. Not saying you would, but you know.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I like the chair-rail idea and that way you would not have to change the flowers when you change bedding.
luvmykids replied: They also have chair rail that has flowers, vines, all kinds of stuff engraved (I know thats not the right word but I can't think of it) A friend of mine used that and they left it natural wood color but painted the indentions of the flowers and vines, does that make sense?
My3LilMonkeys replied: I like the chair rail idea too.
PrairieMom replied: I've thought about a chair rail, but the rest of the wood work in the room is natural / stained and DH isn't hip to the idea of painting it, so I am thinking that a white rail would look out of place. what do you think?
PrairieMom replied: OKAY! (stupid photobucket! ) Here is the fabric.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I love the fabric!
I change my opinion, a stripe with those flowers on it would look great!
MyLuvBugs replied: That's pretty!! I think I'd put up a white chair rail with pink/white stripes painted below it. Above either a light green or pink again, and then stencil flowers & vines around the top of the wall near the ceiling.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I'd still stick with the chair rail. If you can stain it to match the other wood, I think it will look fine.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: We have natural colored wood trim and doors around our whole house, but DH just put up chair rails in both the kids' rooms. The nursery has a white one and Wil's is dark blue. I didn't think it would work either with the natural wood, but it does! Especially the white! I'll try and take a pic of the nursery and show it to you if you want...
PrairieMom replied: That would be lovely, I really don't want to invest the $ and time into it and decide I don't like if afterwards ya know?
