My3LilMonkeys replied: I would say just something simple like:
Dear XXXX:
This letter is to give my one months notice. July 31st will be my last day of work due to a new career oppurtunity. I have enjoyed working for you and appreciate the opportunities that you have provided to me.
Sincerely, Shelley XXX
Nina J replied: Pam's was good...I'd probably write
Dear XXX,
Due to work opportunities, I will no longer be able to work for you as of July 31st. This is a one month notification to give you ample time to find a suitable replacement.
Thank you for your kindness and the many opportunities you have given me while I worked for you.
Your’s sincerely,
Shelley.
How well do you know your employers? Because if you know them well then I guess it wouldn't have to be so formal, KWIM?? Just a thought.
mummy2girls replied: really well! august will be 1 year ive been with them. They are very awesome people. They are professional to me knowing im thier employee but they are also treating me as a friend. So its where they know how and when to not cross that line of friendship and still be professional about it.
amymom replied: Everyone else put it very well. I think have the letter prepared, but you probably will do it in person and just talk to them. It will go well, I am sure. They will miss you tho!!!
lisar replied: Shelly, If you do a search on it there are some really nice ones that will come up. I have never had to write one so I dont know how to word one either.
Jamison'smama replied: Good luck Shelly, that's a hard thing to do when you really like where you are working.
mummy2girls replied: oh im goign to do it in person but i want to give them the letter as well too
Brias3 replied: I agree with the others. While you don't have to give in detail reasoning, I think you should definitely still allude to how much you've enjoyed working there, since this is a job you like. Short but sweet will do the trick and if you know your employers more personally, I'm sure an in person discussion could take place too and you could voice your appreciation then too.
A&A'smommy replied: Congratulations I bet your starting to get really excited now!!
mummy2girls replied: Yes jessy VERY!!!!!!!!!!!
ashtonsmama replied: I think those suggestions for letters are great--I'd say to write a little more about how much you loved it, thanking them, etc. since you said you liked your job and have been there awhile, KWIM?
