My plate is full so please ENOUGH!

mummy2girls wrote: Well in the past few days ive been with a bunch of stuff that I wish was spread within a year...

first.. She has severe language delay so she is way behind the average 4 year old. so she needs intensive intervention. so she is starting therapy where she will go to a place every day like preschool.

Then... the Occupational Therapist called and told me she wrote up some notes for me to take to the OT at the place she will be starting. I read it and it said she needs help with her eating skills, and drooling of course.

Third.. the peds office called me this morning and she has enlarged tonsils and adnoids so she is getting referred to an ENT doctor. And the ped is 99.9 % sure she will need both her adnoids and tonsils taken out ohmy.gif but she will nto have that done probably until 2007 sometime...

Fourth her ped wants to do allergy testing on her because she is stuffed up throughout the year and a big chunk she is stuffed up and rubbing her eyes. so he thinks she may have environmental induced allergies ohmy.gif

Ok now thsi all wouldnt be hard to take in if it was spread throughout the year but in 2 days... AKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on a good side note,, jennas dad is going to pick her up and drop her off for me... no fighting nothing, he just agreed!

at least her dad is willing to help out.
why are they waiting so long to do the surgery?
i know you're nervous and not in any rush but the surgery would likely clear all her discomfort so why wait to do it?
btw, i know you mentioned you're concerned because of past experiences but these are such routine procedures, they're nothing like what you've gone through in the past.
poor Jenna, hopefully she'll get over this hurdle just as cheerful and happy as always, she really seems like a very content child. wub.gif

lisar replied: hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif I am glad you finally have some answers though. It will get better.

coasterqueen replied: hug.gif hug.gif I know it's a lot to take in.

I can tell you this, though. There was a little boy at the girls daycare that could barely speak clear words, he was really really behind and getting a lot of help in preschool. He has allergies up the wazoo, can't speak very clearly and constantly was sick. Poor kid. Well just a few months ago they took out his adnoids and tonsils and you would not believe the WORLD of difference this has made for this boy. I am literally amazed at how well he's talking now, a lot of his allergy symptoms have gone away (not sure how it ties in there, though) AND he hasn't been sick in months. It seemed like the kid was sick 24/7 before that.

So having that done might be a blessing and an answer to all her problems. It didn't take long at all after the boy had his out that his improvement was awesome.

hug.gif and hang in there.

mummy2girls replied:
because its not severe enough where they need to do it now. its just moderate. so thats why it probably will take a few months. plus to get in for surgery if it isnt a huge thing at this point takes a long time to get in.. it sucks!

TANNER'S MOM replied: I am sorry about Jenna.. but I think these things will help her. Tanner had his tonsil's out when he was 5..and it wasn't perfectly easy.. I won't lie about it. He was tired and a bit sore for a week afterward and didn't go back to school for 2 weeks.. But it made a huge difference in his health. He was underweight and now he is the biggest boy in the class. He had infection constantly ruining thru his body and know he never gets sick. We thought he had allergies.. but he hasn't taken Zyrtec sense.

I know you are nervous I was too.. I cried matter of fact. but I am glad I did it now.

Kiss Jenna for me!

mummy2girls replied: Thank you guys! I know she will eb ok and this all will be the best for her! i guess because it was thrown all at me at once im taking it hard. it makes me sit backa nd wonder am i bad mom to have her have this severe of a delay in her language.. but i know its not the case but i still think it!

gr33n3y3z replied:

Jamison'smama replied: Hugs Shelly and Jenna! That is a lot to take in. Jamison was also told she has HUGE tonsils but they aren't doing anything at this point. They have asked me to tape record her sleeping to see if there are gaps in her breathing. Does Jenna snore a lot?

mummy2girls replied:
