I like to bake

Oatmeal Choc chip cookies - they are moist and chewy
Banada Bread or muffins
Snickerdoodles

Those are the regulars for me!

C&K*s Mommie replied: Are you trying to cause sweet tooths to work overtime?? tongue.gif biggrin.gif

ETA: I love snickerdoodles yummy.gif

cameragirl21 replied: ohhhh, i LOVE snickerdoodles, i prefer eating them to baking them though. tongue.gif
i like to bake blueberry muffins and cupcakes, must be something about those paper cups that i find appealing.
i also like to decorate cupcakes, just like a little kid.

Our Lil' Family replied: I love baking too but it's too hard for me not to eat what I bake so I don't do it often. I love baking cakes, or cookies!

coasterqueen replied: I only bake on rare occasions, because if I didn't I'd be fatter than I am now. happy.gif

I love to bake muffins, mostly blueberry and banana nut.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I like to bake cookies. Any kind, but mostly chocolate chip, peanut butter, pumpkin chocolate chip or sugar.

hoosier momma replied: Chocolate chip cookies are by far the favorite for my whole family.

Calimama replied: Cookies, muffins, cakes.. anything. When I'm the one baking I dont want to eat too much of it. wink.gif

msoulz replied: I have a super easy banana bread recipe in which I put chocolate chips instead of nuts (boy doesn't like nuts) whenever I have two overly ripe bananas. banana.gif

But I would love to have a nice chocolate chip recipe that I couldn't screw up that made fluffy cookies (mine are always flat!). yummy.gif

MotherForever2043 replied:
Esther made those last week in her cooking class, they were good yummy.gif I wish I could bake as good as she does laugh.gif I make the dinner and she makes the dessert! I tried baking a few times and.....when the food was done, it didn't even look like food laugh.gif

sparkys2boys replied: I love to bake, and do it alot!!! I can't narrow it down to one or two things..lol!! Cookies, cakes, fancy desserts.. you name it.. I have tried it!!

DillsMommy replied: I can bake some awsome chocolate chip cookies, if I do say so myself. yummy.gif
Everything sounds so yummy, anybody want to share some recipe's... biggrin.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: I am not a baker..at all. I grew up with my father only and we were meat and taters kind of people..but right now you can have my first born if you send me a snookerdoodle..llolol

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I bake at least once if not twice a week. It's usually chocolate chip cookies, sometimes double choc chip cookies and banana bread. Brownies too or a pie of some kind. YUM! DH gave me a cookie jar for Xmas...I think he is hinting something to me! rolling_smile.gif

CantWait replied: I love making chocolate chip cookies.
Dh loves when I bake banana bread tongue.gif

ZandersMama replied: I love making gingerbread, and homemade bread. My little boy LOVES gingerbread men, he calls them man-mans. tongue.gif

luvmykids replied: I looooove sweets so I bake as often as necessary rolling_smile.gif Everything, cakes, cookies, pies, candies.....

And I learned a trick from my grandma...she always doubles the recipe then freezes half so she can throw a batch of cookies in the oven at a moments notice.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: OMG I bake almost everyday.

We usually have on hand, at any point in time, about a dozen of oatmeal muffins, honey bran muffins, blueberry muffins, apple scones, raisin scones, garlic and cheddar scones, peanut butter cookies, chocolate brownie cookies, oatmeal cookies.

Almost everyday we eat bread of some kind - my favorite to make are loaves of bread flavored with basil or rosemary, banana bread, cinnamon raisin bread, garlic bread, banana bread, and of course plain ole white bread. I've made garlic breadsticks,,, but they're too time consuming for my taste. emlaugh.gif I make biscuits pretty regularly too, since we have chili-type dishes fairly often... about 3 times a week I guess. I like making crescents too...but those I buy frozen at Costco, and take some out the night before I want to make them so that they have time to thaw and rise properly

Less often, I make brownies and cinnamon rolls, but those are usually for dh or ds to take in their lunches.

PrairieMom replied: I love making molten chocolate cake. It is super easy, just mix in one bowl, it makes 4, but you can refrigerate it, so I bake them 2 at a time. We wait until the Boy goes to bed then bake them. Super easy and super yummy. Of coarse, now I am on a diet, so I can't have one... dry.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Ooooh I have one that makes the most amazing cookies... they freeze extremely well too, both before and after baking... theyère nice and chewy, like brownies. biggrin.gif

They're also very kid friendly... I get the kids to help roll the little balls. biggrin.gif

HuskerMom replied: My favorite to bake is peanut butter cookies or cornbread. And I don't bake this but I make a mean cherry cheesecake yummy.gif

msoulz replied:
Please, do share! Is it in the recipe thread?? Don't just tease me now!! rolling_smile.gif

Edited because I can't type!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I don't ahve it with me (I'm at my mom's), but it has 2 cups of chocolate chips, 6 tblsp of butter or margarine

It's a chocolate cookie, not chocolate chip though... dunno if that's what you were looking for...?

msoulz replied: It sure sounds good to me! When you have a chance I'd love to have it. I am sure my son would enjoy baking and eating. Thanks a bunch! hug.gif

JadensMama05 replied:
Seriously!! LOL!!

I don't bake much but I'm stopping by all your houses tomorrow! smile.gif

moped replied: I will share my recipe for the cookies in the morning - I get lots from allrecipes.com - but when I get on in the morning i will share!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Here's my cookie recipe... sorry if it's a little hard to "get", I'm translating it from french. tongue.gif

#1:
2 cups melted chocolate chips (also works well with peanut butter chips, but not with butterscotch chips)
6 tblsp soft margarine
1 cup sugar

#2:
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

#3:
1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

#4:
2 eggs

#5:
powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup, or more if necessary

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time, stirring after each time, until all melted and smooth. Cream together ingredients from #1. Add #2, and stir in. Combine ingredients from #3, and stir in to chocolate mixture. Add #4, and stir in so that everything is all mixed well into some sort of forming ball.

Freeze ball for about 20 minutes, or until firm. Make 1'' balls out of the mixture. Roll the balls in powdered sugar. Bake 9-12 minutes in a preheated (350*) oven, on an ungreased cookie sheet. 9 minutes for a really chewy brownie like cookie, 12 minutes for a hard crunchy cookie. I usually put mine in for 10 minutes.

Let them cool before you eat them... just a little... but these things melt in your mouth, almost literally. yummy.gif

msoulz replied: Mmmmm, thank you Rocky! hug.gif

holley79 replied: I love baking but just don't have the time. I love making fresh bread. It's so yummy.gif and makes the house smell so good.
