Kyrsten is allergic to amoxcillin

jacobsmama replied: Aww I'm so sorry, that is just terrible when your kids are sick this way and the meds you give them makes it worse by giving them a rash! At least that was her only side effect could have been much worse thank goodness it wasn't.

MyLuvBugs replied: Poor baby!! Be careful now. If she's allergic to Amoxicillin, that means she is probably allergic to all Penicillin products. You might want to ask your Dr. about it. I hope she's ok.

huggybugboy replied: the same thing happened to miles, only he didnt have that bad a reaction. Watch out though, omnicef gave Miles horrible diaper rash. the doc said that its normal. I gave him yogurt and it seemed to get better.

I asked her about it they are staying away from it but she said 10% of kids also have reaction to omnicef so I am worried about that.

Watch out with the omnicef....I was on it over Chrstmas and it gave me diarreah and a yeast infect (sorry TMI) Thats some harsh stuff

Daniel's allergic to amoxicillin too---we found out last year when he got big dime-sized hives on day five of being treated for an ear infection.

He's taking Omnicef right now for a double ear infection and it seems to be doing wonders with no side effects.
