Kids clothing sizes

MyBabeMaddie wrote: Is my kid the odd ball here, or did/does anyone elses kid seem to be double the clothes size they should be. She is wearing 2T and some 3T clothes already aand has been since August or so, shes only 16 months, I'm so curious to see how big is - we have her Well appointment tomorrow even though Its turned into a sick appt - it seems like she always gets sick

amynicole21 replied: Sophia was always at least 6 months behind the sizing schedule, but Nora was just a bit ahead of it.

luvmykids replied: Colt was, but he was a chunky monkey laugh.gif Kylie has always been too small in the waist for her "correct" size and Macie is right on the nose.

lisar replied: Raygen 2.5 and she can still wear 18month sizes so mine is the opposite.

bawoodsmall replied: Emily was a big girl so she always needed around twice. Aiden is about average though. Is it just me though or does it seem like girls clothes are made smaller? The jeans seem way tight to me. I usually have to get em the cheaper not stylyish ones or they are too tight and she wont wear them or gripes when she does becuase they are so tight in the butt.

My2Beauties replied: Hanna was always way above the mark, at one year she was in 18 months, and at 16 months she was in 2T. She has to wear a 5T or 6 in shirts right now and a 4T in pants, 5T pants fit her, they are just a tad bit long on her. She has always been in the 75th to 90th percentile for weight and height. Aubrey is right on the money, matter of fact she is almost 7 months and can still wear some of her 3/6 month clothes. 3-6 month clothes usually go up to 18 lbs, there are a few that I have that go up to 16.5 lbs, then when you consider the shrinking they do...so some of them she can't fit but the majority of them she can. She's really short too for her age, she is only in the 25th percentile so she'll definitely be a hard one to shop for.

Mommy2Isabella replied: Bella is in 6-12 months stuff, Her pants are 12month though. and they are big in the waist we have to get the adjustable waist bands!!

momtoMegan&Alyxandria replied: Megan was always ahead of her age in clothes sizes. At 6 months she was in 9, at 9 months she was in 18 months. Now she is 8 (9 in Feb) and she wears a 10 slim for the length. She has been in 10/12 shirts for 2 yrs now so they will cover her belly, but some are almost too short now. So once she goes up another size I am sure all her shirts will be short sleeved. She just doesn't have long enough arms for the next size up.
Now Alyx is competely different. I look at her and seriously wonder if she will ever grow. At her last vist (12 months back in May) she didn't even weigh 20 lbs (and she eats all the time) and was only like 27-29" tall. Everyone looks at her and comments on how small she is. I have told friends I don't think she will make 5' when she is an adult. A friends little boy is 3 months younger and probably 3" taller than she is.

MoonMama replied: Braedin is 13 months and he's tall so he is in 18 months jeans/pants, but then they are way to big in the waist so we had to find belts for him.

For shirts we get 12 months and they are a bit big and he is still wearing some of his 9 month shirts.

MommyToAshley replied: Ashley was always at least a year ahead. When she was 2, she was wearing 3T, and so on. She just turned 5 in September and she's wearing size 6X or 7. But, she's always been big for her age.

Cece00 replied: My oldest used to be way ahead, but he is 6 now and wears mostly 5/5t, and a few of the smaller 6's. He was way ahead until he was about 4.

My 2nd is pretty much right on the nose.

My daughter is on the small side, although she mustve grown recently b/c she is needing the 2t pants (she is 2) but this summer she could still fit into 12m shorts! So she is right on, I guess...OH, except in the waist. She has a tiny waist, I have to buy adjustable pants for her.

My 15 month old is wearing 18m shirts and he is on the short side, in 12 m pants, but he also just shot up a bit & needs to be moved into 18m pants...so I guess he's evening out in size...

holley79 replied: Annika wears 18 months to 2T depends on who makes the clothes. I ahve to buy her adjustable waist band pants though because she wears 18 months but the length isn't long enough.

ETA: I hope she gets to feeling better.

Calimama replied: Miabella is 16 months and is in 6-12 and 9-12 still.

My3LilMonkeys replied: My kids are both odd sizes.....

Brooke is 4, wears a size 3 or 4 top. Pants the waist needs to be around 3T and the length 5T, so we buy adjustable waists and tighten them.

Madison is 2 1/2, wears a size 3 or 4 tops. Pants the waist needs to be at least 3T, sometimes 4T and the length about 2T so we end up rolling them up a lot.

It's a good thing Brooke can remember whose clothes are whose cause I can't keep it straight with them in practically the same size. blush.gif

DillsMommy replied: okay, Peyton must be HUGE cause he won't be 4 months until Dec. 6th and already wears 12 month clothes. ohmy.gif Dylan though is pretty much right where he should be, size 4/5.

msoulz replied: Erin is 2 and in a 2T - she has pretty much always followed the sizes. But my son was always a size ahead until he was probably 5, and now he is 9 and wearing 8's. He was a big baby and is a small kid!

ZandersMama replied: Zander is 3 and wearing size 5 in pants, size 6 in shirts. He is SO tall he needs them for length but needs a belt.

Zavier is 14 months and wearing 12-18 months, right on the money........not bad since he was in preemie/newborn until he was 6 months old blush.gif

3xsthefun replied: Kaitlynn is 7 1/2 almost 8, she wears 7/8 in shirts and size 7 in pants we have to buy the adjustable waist since they are little to big in the waist.

Maegan she is 4, she wears a 4T-5T shirt and 3T-4T pants.

Ryan he is almost 6 months, he wears 12 months shirts and 6-9 month pants, sometimes he can fit 12 month pants just depends.

Calimama replied:
I love the new picture of him in your siggy, he's too cute sitting up like that. wub.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Both my kids seem to be pretty spot on. Wesley can still fit into 12 months at 17 months old. But he mostly wears 18 months. Wil wears 4T at 3.5 years. But also can fit into 5T if I want it baggy. It just depends on the brand IMO.

Celestrina replied: Ben is skinny, so we have to get pants with the adjustable waistband. Length he is generally right on the mark at 4t. His cousin, who is only 4 months older, wears around a 9. Here they are celebrating Ben's second birthday in '05
