Katherine had her first swim lesson today

It's a private lesson & she did great! She put her head in the water and she blew bubbles. They are WONDERFUL with kids. I watched the interactions and was very pleased.
K was so proud of herself!
amynicole21 replied: That's great! Glad she's taking to water so well... I seem to remember she wasn't so keen on it when we went to the sprinkler park at the zoo!
kit_kats_mom replied: yep. you remember correctly. this is the same kid who wouldn't even sit in the kiddie pool two weeks ago.
We went to a pool party last weekend though and she would not shut up about going swimming. I hadn't brought a suit for her since I knew she didn't like the water. so she went in her panties and tee shirt. LOL
MomToJade&Jordan replied: That's great that she's taking to it. We had Jade in the water this weekend, but she is very against putting her face in it.
gr33n3y3z replied: thats a great start
DansMom replied: WTG Katherine!! I'm convinced that Daniel's swim class last year built up his confidence in the water. Good idea!
Jamielou replied: Thats great carley took swimming lessons and she is a little waterdog i think she is part fish....
Kaitlin'smom replied: sounds like she had fun. I was working with Kait in our pool Sunday she was doing really well but I need a better vest for her
jcc64 replied: Corey is following in the family tradition of landlubbing toddlers. My boys, while avid swimmers now, were the last kids of their peer groups to take the plunge, and I suspect Corey will follow suit. It's funny- as a child I was a Jr Olympian swimmer- I don't know why my kids have such an aversion to water- but clearly they do. I'm glad K is beating her fears. I think it's especially important to learn early in Fla.
mckayleesmom replied: McKaylee is a fearless water baby. She will walk right in no matter how cold or deep the water. K sounds like she is having a blast.
My2Beauties replied: I need to enroll Hanna in swim classes, during her first year she loved the water, tub, pool, etc...but now when she gets in the tub she can't stand water being poured on her or when I wash her hair, the child throws fits then when we went to the coutry for Memorial Day weekend, they had a baby pool and she would put her hands in it and splash but she would not put her foot in the water So now I'm going to have to enroll her, we are swimaholics so I want her to be able to go with us whenever we go and not be scared. Don't they start babies as young as 6 months? I wonder if they have a toddler one around here? Hey dop you mind my asking Cary - were they expensive?
kit_kats_mom replied: I don't mind. Yes, the 4 week, 3x's per week, private 15 min session is $237 including tax.
If I'd thought about it earlier I would have done the YMCA but they don't have any classes availiable that would be over by our trip. It's the price I paid for not planning better.
