Just curious what you think

BAC'sMom wrote: As the 5th anniversary approaches for 9/11… do you think there will be another attempted and or terror attack?

C&K*s Mommie replied: No. It would be the most obvious day, and with everyone's suspicions up and extra security measures being taken (although many have been breached) I think it is too obvious a day for a terrorist to take chances.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: I pray not! I don't know though...in a way I agree with Nicole BUT then there is the part of me that knows what a blow it would be to our nation to face something on that day again The thing so many of us forget is that we are not dealing with a rational group of people that would say.."That would be an obvious day. We should wait for the next Thursday..." All they are determined to do is cause as much destruction as they can.... bawling.gif I truly hope we don't see anything like 9/11 again ever but sadly I doubt that will be the case sad.gif

Can you believe it has been 5 years?!?! blink.gif

God BLESS the families who live with the loses of that day in their homes!

luvmykids replied: I'm with you Abbie, I go back and forth but don't think the fact that it's an obvious date would deter anyone, in fact I think we tend to dismiss the obvious all too often in many ways.

C&K*s Mommie replied: BTW... what do you think Jimmie, since you posed this question? smile.gif

I think moreso than any other day of the year, everyone's guards will be up on that day. Example look at the past four Sept 11th's, the days leading up to it and the days following it were full of high alerts. 'Keep on your guard' sort of mentality.

I think the terrorists want to pose another strike (it will happen again, and time will tell when that will be) but I think they would want to do it when we least expect it. That is why I say that it would be too obvious a day for the terrorists. We (as a nation) would suspect it, so there goes that plan for them, IMO. As President Bush said we have to be right 100% of the time, the terrorists only have to be right one time.

Brias3 replied: I want to say "no" because of the reasons Nicole mentioned but sadly enough, nothing surprises me anymore. I PRAY its a no.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I agree.

mom21kid2dogs replied: I think, without a doubt, there will be another terrorist attack on US soil. The only uncertainty in my mind would be when. sad.gif

BAC'sMom replied:

Well let’s see….

Yes I do think there will be another attack on American soil I however do not think it will happen on 9/11 for the same reasons stated above. Everyone will be on his or her toes and on guard. I will say after making that statement I hope and pray that we will not be attacked. The sad thing is I think as citizens of the US we will always be looking over our shoulders for generations to come.

I have seen a lot in my short lifetime... Vietnam, President Reagan got shot, Space Shuttle Challenger exploded, Exxon Valdez oil spill, Persian Gulf War, Berlin wall got tore down, The beating of Rodney King and the LA riots, Waco, Bombing of the Federal building in Oklahoma City just name a few. BUT nothing shook me to the core like seeing those planes hit the towers and the pentagon. And the world as I knew is forever changed. In my heart I know they will TRY do it again.

C&K*s Mommie replied: With the exception of Vietnam, but that is replaced with the wars going on now, I have to agree- I have seen alot too. Espe with your last statement about shaken to the core, and seeing how select groups of people in other nations hated us so much to inflict so much harm on one especially heartbreaking day. sad.gif
