Juicers, anyone else use them?

MoonMama wrote: I'm just wondering if anyone else uses a juicer on a regular basis? I use mine daily, Braedin had never had any kind of juice that didn't come from a juicer (grammy and nana's houses also have juicers) he LOVES the juice (so do DH and I). If you do what are come of your favorite combinations of fruits/veggies. I am running out of new ideas and changing it up is always good.

Calimama replied: We do some weird ones that are actually really good.. apple/carrot, strawberries/pineapple/grapes, watermelon/lemon/oranges/pineapple (sounds weird but it's good lol), grape/celery, apple/strawberry, oranges/cucumber. I think that's all. If you want the exact recipe you know where to find me. tongue.gif

MoonMama replied:
How ever did I know that you'd be a juicer too. tongue.gif emlaugh.gif

I never would have thought of grape/celery or orange/cucumber but those sound good. Can you PM m with the recipes? Pretty please? biggrin.gif

I try to add pineapple when I can to mine so you can't taste it, because I know its so good for you but man I hate it! rolling_smile.gif

Oh BTW I made the tofu stir-fry last night and it was a big hit! Everyone loved it even my super picky sister, it was so good. Thanks so much for sharing it with me. thumb.gif

DVFlyer replied: We juice daily. Good stuff. Mostly:

2- Apples
2- Oranges (substitute one orange with pineapple- half a spear)
3- carrots
1- 1/4 of cucumber (they are VERY strong... don't need much)
1- Handful of spinach when we have it.

After we juice, we blend it with frozen strawberries, a banana, yogurt and, sometimes, blueberries.

I would like to find more ways of putting veggies in there. Fruit is good, but it's got a LOT of sugar.

MoonMama replied:
I try to add veggie as much as I can too. I honestly just tend to toss some veggies in whenever I think it wont taste horrible. Usually know one even notices they're there. rolling_smile.gif

Crystalina replied: This is a great thread! I don't use a juicer but I've always wanted to get one but my main thing is why buy it because I have no idea what to squeeze!

Cece00 replied:
For veggies, I would suggest a tiny bit of broccoli...depending on the fruit you use you cant taste it..

spinach, kale, endive

maybe cabbage or lettuce, though they are very watery....might be good, though, easy to cover up...

celery

I bet you could do raw greenbeans & you couldnt taste those

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I don't have one, but I WANT one! I'm really into drinking acai (is that how you spell it) lately. It's the highest in antioxidants, more so than pomegranate and it tastes SO good! Although I buy it in blueberry flavor, which is probably sweetened. I haven't tried the regular kind yet. Anyway, I LOVE fresh carrot juice, so I really want a juicer. Guess that's on my wish list for next birthday!

What about beets? They are so good for you and add a nice deep color! I love them. And then what about afalfa sprouts or wheat grass?

Brias3 replied: This sounds yummy- I need to get one!

I love fresh squeezed juice from citrus fruits but its time consuming with the hand held straining thing. Besides that, the only interesting things we do with fruits and veggies is make smoothies! These are good ideas though! I can't wait to look into one now- the kids will love it thumb.gif

luvmykids replied: I haven't used mine in awhile, I don't think I even know where the recipe book is. But I do remember using beets, kale, brocolli and spinach with all the fruity drinks. I never could taste the spinach, especially if there were orange, strawberry or pineapple flavors.

MoonMama replied:
I pretty much throw any and all fruits and veggies in mine. I have never used any real recipes I just go with what I think sounds good, and also depending upon the benefits of each fruit/veggie and what not.

Crystal what is endive? I have never heard of it. blush.gif

Cece00 replied:
Its a leafy veggies.

Here ya go.

Chances are you've had it before & didnt realize. Its in some salad mixes.

MoonMama replied:
