Jello Cake - for those that want
mckayleesmom wrote: to know how to make it.
You will need
CAKE MIX...white or yellow, whatever you prefer...I have used both JELLO....whatever flavor you want...I tend to use strawberry or rasberry COOL WHIP
INSTRUCTIONS
Bake your cake as you would normally do. When the cake is done and sitting to cool, go ahead and prepare your jello like it says on the box. With a fork or toothpick, poke holes in the cake. I usually use a fork and I stab it in 2 times per estimated slice. Then take the jello that you already prepared and pour it over the cake....NOTE....I only use half of the mix over the cake and you can even use less if its a larger thing of jello mix. If you use too much the cake will be really soggy. Stick the cake in the fridge for at least 3 hours.....at least that is how long I usually do before I can no longer take it and have to eat it... .....When you take the cake out....spread the cool whip over the top like you would frosting.....or you could also use frosting, but cool whip is much yummier.....Then cut and eat....store leftovers in the fridge.
CantWait replied: Thanks for that, I'll have to try on my next binge day.
1lilpeanut2love replied: sounds great
kayla's mama replied: Thanks that sounds so good. I might have to make it this week
holley79 replied: This is not a weight watchers recipe but I will defiantly have to use it on my "treat" day. Then of course eat the whole thing so there isn't anything tempting on my non treat day.
C&K*s Mommie replied: amen to that!
mckayleesmom replied: You can make it with diet jello and cut some ingredients in the cake with splenda and stuff....
3xsthefun replied: That sounds good!
luvmykids replied: Well I finally caved. The cake is baking. We used chocolate with strawberry jello.
mckayleesmom replied: Yummy yummy
Cece00 replied: Use applesauce instead of oil (you wont be able to tell) and get egg substitute, and fat free cool whip....also sugar free jello...should come very close to being low pts per slice.
booey2 replied: You could also use it with an angel food cake mix and the diet jello and ff cool whip and it will be just as sinful but with way less points to count for it and you could enjoy it on your non-treat day if you wanted.
fashionmumofboys replied: Sounds yummy and easy to make.
Thanks for sharing.
Crystalina replied: Thanks for that. We'll try it this weekend.
coasterqueen replied: I might have to try this because all this talk is REALLY making me want some. I wonder how many points it would be?
booey2 replied: Well the ff/sf jello is free, the ff/sf cool whip is free within limits, as for the cake not sure would have to check my point book tonight but I am thinking max 3 for a good size piece.
coasterqueen replied: Oooh that wouldn't be too bad. I might have to workout a bit harder that night if I tried it though.
Kaitlin'smom replied: okay next time I go tot the store I will have to try this
question is this a round cake, 2 layer or rectangle?
luvmykids replied: I do mine in a rectangle pan, but I don't see why you couldn't do it other ways.
booey2 replied: My mom used to do 2 layers round cake and use different colour jello in each and she also use to make the rectangular cake and use different colour jello in different holes.
