JAKOB - aspergers test/sensory issues
boyohboyohboy wrote: I for once have wonderful news.. Today was Jakobs test for aspergers, as well as a speech therapy test.
HE PASSED!
They said he is functioning on a 27 month level and he is perfectly fine. she told us that he does have some sensory issues, but not enough to call it SID she said she is able to determine that because the touch issues that he has he is able to find a resolution to what is bothering him and fix it.
he also spoke really well, and was able to socialize at the right age level. I even saw him do somethings I didnt know he knew...
so for once it was good news..

As far as the wholistic doctor is concerned, my cousin went to one and he had a medical license and was a licensed MD. He use to be a non-wholistic doctor, then battled cancer and changed his practice into wholistic treatments. I'm not sure if that is the norm, or if it is legal for people to practice wholistic medicine without a license....I have no clue about that one. I'd be curious though. Perhaps there is a different license that they obtain for that???
Oh, and my cousin had very good luck with the doctor as well. She was going through cancer herself, and even though she still sees other doctor's for her treatments, the wholistic doctor has been able to educate her in the proper nutrition and other things to help maintain her body better as it fights the cancer cells. Actually, if there is a good chiropractor in your area, they are very knowledgable in nutrition and allergies, etc. as well. The chiro I work for has a very vast array of knowledge when it comes to that stuff (I usually ask him questions about that stuff, not my MD), as chiropractic care is filed under alternative care as well. They are trained in that area for their degree, moreso than MD's are.

we have seen a couple holistic doctors. the first was a nurse/nutritionist. and she did wonders with both my sister and my mom. they did the whole push on your arm stuff. they were both having a lot of problems with thyroid. Now...my mom sees her holistic doctor at least once a week dealing with her alzheimers. Western medicine offered her no hope so she turned to eastern medicine. she isn't healed but definitely doing much better than she was when going to all "the best" doctors LA had to offer.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh yay! That is such great news!! DH and his parents go to a famous hollistic doctor in NY, but I'll have to ask if he is licensed or not. I don't think western medicine is always the answer, but you need to be very careful about herbs. It's not healthy just because it's an herb, kwim? I would be worried about giving anything to a child without doing a lot of research on it.
