I think we got ripped off
ediep wrote: last month for my b-day, DH bought me a Coach Patchwork purse off ebay. He mailed out a money order to the seller on Jan 21. She was supposed to mail out the purse when she got the payment. Well, its been weeks and he keeps sending her emails but with no response. Finally, Monday he called her and she said that she was waiting to hear from him to find out where to send it. (WTH???) so he told her to overnight it and to include some proof that its a real Coach....like the tags or a reciept. Well, its been 3 days and no purse yet. Now when he calls her there is either no answer or its busy. He called again earlier today and her daughter gave a fake number when DH asked for her work number so he could talk to her now.
anyone ever been in a similar situation? Are we protected by ebay at all? He didn't use paypal, but are we just going to be out that money? It wasn't cheap
luvmykids replied: What was her feedback rating? If she's got good feedback it may not be as bad as it seems .... I use ebay a lot and haven't run into this but click on "Help" and scroll down to "Transaction Problems" there may be something there to help you.
Sorry you're having trouble!
Jamison'smama replied: Yes you are protected HERE is what eBay says about it.
What is that person's feedback like?
moped replied: WOW I just looked them up and they are great and pricey!!!
Sorry, but it sounds like you got screwed a bit - I am not sure there is any protection, but you can file with ebay and they may be able to refund you
coasterqueen replied: Yes, but sounds like I didn't get ripped off as badly if in fact that is what happened to you. Sounds like that's what happened. Sorry to hear that.
I bought a pair of new Robeez online and the lady had quite a bit of feedback and it was 100% positive. I paid $25 for them, which is about $6 cheaper including shipping than if you bought them from Robeez personally. Well a few weeks went by and no product. I emailed her several times and she said she had a death in the family, etc. Well ok, but a few days after I won the auction she said she sent them out. So I thought that was strange and asked her to send them - they were for a gift. She said she'd send them out the next day. A week or two went by and still nothing. She said she decided not to send them, too much hassle and would send me a money order in the mail. Weeks went by and no money order and she stopped responding to my emails. So I filed a complaint with Ebay they told me to file with Paypal. I did that and Paypal said they would look it over and if she was in the wrong fine her - they did find her in the wrong, but SUPRISE no funds in her account OBVIOUSLY so I'm out $25. I went back to her ebay account to leave a negative and she had like 30 negatives left all at the same time that weren't there when I bid.
luvbug00 replied: ITA and write e-bay! tell them about it and be as spasific as possible.
~~*Missi*~~ replied: You will have to ask ebay cause I know with Paypal you are covered with your purchases.
You do need to file with ebay thoy thru the user account there is a place to post item not recieved. Go there and start
I would also negative feedback her cause well sometimes that will get there booties in gear wow keep us updated
gr33n3y3z replied: Contact ebay and talk to them Make sure he keps anything e-mail wise to prove his case with them. Good Luck
C&K*s Mommie replied: Hope it all works out in the end, and you get your authentic Coach purse, that your DH wanted to give to your originally.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Edie that really sucks. I'm so sorry. I bet you are just sick over the whole deal. I hope it gets resolved soon.
ediep replied: update----
DH got an email from the seller that said she was sending the money back because she found a buyer that was willing to pay more. totally against ebays rules, but at least we aren't out that money
hopefully, we'll get the money in the next few days
PrairieMom replied: Are you going to report her? That is totally uncool, and way against the rules. Even IF you get the $ back, i would still report her.
Jamison'smama replied: Keep that email and send all of this information to Ebay. I hope you left feedback!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Something like that happened to us around christnas time - I bought an armani suit for dh for 135$ (or around there) and never got it. I got shoes instead. I asked the seller what was going on - i told them i was gonna file with ebay amd paypal - they replied saying they had no idea what shoes i was talking about.
Anyways on ebay the ame member posted the same suit i'd bought, different item number though - so i bid on that - they refubded my 1st purchase and i paid the second one.
they had no negativews either - and when i went back, theyalso had several.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Hope it all gets resolved quickly & with no more hassle for your DH.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chris is still into selling on ebay. But I on the other hand, am liking ebay less and less each time I go. Especially hearing stories like this of shady sellers. That and sometimes I can go to the store to find it for the same price minus the S/H charges. Only if I find that extremely good deal like I got with my solar lights & some jewelry, will I buy anymore.
