I talked to my hubby..Very sad... - May be hard for some of you to read!

When he first went in to see her she was hooked up to so many machines and tubes. There were more tubes than baby. She was in a very deep coma...they had her hooked up to a machine to detect brain activity..and the lines that show the activity was so low it looked as if it was flat lined. So they rushed her in for a catscan and when they returned it was nothing but tragic news. My sister-in-law was taken into a room with my hubby and my mom-in-law and a social worker and the doctor. The doctor proceedec to tell them that she was going brain dead. There was not that much brain activity left. So they have to wait 24 hours and then they have to do another test to really determine if it is brain death. And if it is then my sweet little niece has passed away.

The Doctor said the impact of the fall and the blow to the head caused massive brain injury! I wish i can be there for my sis-in-law and my hubby. I want to just hug them both! I am so upset right now! I dont know how we are going to get through this Christmas. my hubby's sister is a single mom also. She has no husband or boyfriend. The father of leigha took off when she was 2 months old. VERY SAD!!!

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I have no idea how to help my hubby with this loss. He was soooooo close to leigha even though we live far away from each other.

jem0622 replied: I am so sad and very sorry to hear this. I don't even know if they are thinking about this...but can they donate organs and so forth so that she could save the lives of others? In this time of sadness I don't know if she can fathom this...but it is something to consider.
