My hands will be busy now LOL.
luvmykids replied: I've been wanting to learn to knit forever but I haven't taken the time to do it. Did you use a book or just figure it out on your own?
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: My sister Laurie helped me, and gave me some books to borrow. One was The Complete Idiot's Guide to Knitting and Teach Yourself Visually: Knitting. I also used the videos at Knitting Help.com.
I have the basics mastered, I haven't officially made anything but swatches so far, but it's a start!
luvmykids replied: I'll have to check out the videos, thanks!
CantWait replied: Good for you. I miss my grandmas knitted slippers, so WARM
Kaitlin'smom replied: I only know one stitch but I can knitt I have made blankets and scarves. I really want to know more stiches but I just dont have much time to learn have fun
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Have fun! I dont know how to knit but I can crochet and its a great stress reliever!
luvbug00 replied: I crochet and i love it. been meaning to learn to knit! have fun!!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I knit too... I knit a lot actually. I kinda have a love/hate relationship with it... crochet is sooooooo much quicker.
When you have a good hang onto knit and purl stitches, and passing over, I'll give you an awesome pattern for beautiful mock cable stitch beanies.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I learned to knit over the summer. MIL taught me...then the yarn store said I was doing it wrong so I went to knittinhelp and relearned
It's really easy once you get teh hang of it...after a few months I started selling longies for $60-75
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: LOL, that's what I'm wanting to do too, but not to sell them. Where do you sell yours at?
My mom tried teaching me, but my sister said she did it in a weird way, so my sister retaught me & it makes much more sense now.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I dont sell online. they are all going through word of mouth. It started with some I made my nieces for Christmas and when they wore them to play group the other moms wanted them...and then some more to people that have stopped me asking where I got Johnny's.
Yea...it was pretty easy when I stopped magically adding stitches int eh middle of rows...MIL had no idea what i was doing wrong but I eventually figured out that between holding it WAY TO TIGHT and who knows what I was randomly wrapping the yarn around the needle creating the extra stitch on accident. it was when I went to the yarn store about something else that they told me I was knitting backwards (going in to the back of the stitch instead of the front) and that was making everything not quite work the way it was supposed to. I am currently trying out duplicate stitches...the actual doing it is easy....the artistic knowing where to put them is a bit more challenging for me.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Cool! My mom learned several years ago~she keeps us supplied in slippers!!!
sparkys2boys replied: I dont think I would be able to sit still long enough to knit..lol! We wanna see pics of your first finished project!
MoonMama replied: That is awesome Mollie! My mom has tried to teach me how to knit & crochet and I just don't get it.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: I'll share something eventually. I'm still a beginner though, so nothing's really good yet.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'm on Etsy, my user name is HillbillyHousewife. There's one on there now, a gray one.
